I have a feeling he's done

Maybe take a year off, see if he can get his legs right, and give it one more shot, but the Saints are known for using running backs like C.J., and I just don't think he has any juice left in those legs.

Don't know if this is still accurate but here's what ESPN reported when he signed with the Saints
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/12475468/cj-spiller-new-orleans-saints-agree-contract
$18 Mil over 4 years with $9 Mil guaranteed and a $5 Mil signing bonus. Assuming this, or something close to it, is true and he invests his money wisely, he should be set for life. I would love to see him back in Tiger Town in some capacity.

He should be set for life as long as he doesn't keep buying those $10,000 Python skinned luggage bags.

According to USA Today's Tom Pelissero, he will receive his guaranteed 2016 salary of $1.7 million just months after he received a $1.55 million guaranteed bonus in March.

Spiller's deal is $18 million over four years with $9 million guaranteed and a $5 million signing bonus
Spiller will count $4.5 million against this year's cap -- then another $2.5 million next year.
All of his money for this season is fully guaranteed

There may be a little gas left in the tank, but...

I think it is safe to say he has fewer days left in the NFL than are behind him. He will be coming home to Tiger Town soon

CJ has nothing to apologize for because he's had a successful career. Running backs have a short shelf life and it's time for him to move on and enjoy his health and hopefully coming back to Tiger Town and help recruit and coach running backs.

I don't care what the Saints or any other team thinks of CJ, he will always be welcome to ride with me.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Patriots take a flier on him. They were close to signing him in the offseason a year ago before the Saints came in and blew everyone away with their offer. Would love to see him revitalize his career with the Pats!

CJ is set, hang up your cleats CJ, enjoy your life, be 'relatively' frugal. Your health is more important than NFL. You have done great. Lasted longer than most nfl running backs.

CJ ain't close to done, he needs a real team to use him like he should be used. Spiller would crush in the Woodhead role at San Diego....someone is smart enough to grab him.

Another case of Buffalo ruining a promising career. No QB and no offensive line entire time he was there. Sammy needs to get out of there somehow. Except for a few seasons, they've never been anything but mediocre. They'll buy a few players and then never finish out a team-except for the Kelly years.EJ Manuel at quarterback which was real bust from the first day and Tyrod Taylor?? No disrespect to them as people but they have not panned out in the NFL. Cordele may turn out good but he's a rookie. I hope they don't ruin his career. So you have EJ and Tyrod who are role players and a rookie who was the last pick of the fourth round. Again-no disrespect to these guys-they play hard and do their best--what more can you ask of a player...but are these guys going to get the ball to Sammy and fully utilize him? I say "Ney ney"
So what about the skill guys?--ones like CJ and Sammy who could have good careers except for being trapped on half #### teams? I don't know if it's still possible but remember when Elway refused to play for the Colts? Of course, now the money is so big perhaps the high profile career is not as important. They play for a few years and then are gone. It is gratifying to know CJ should be in good shape which is great. It's just frustrating to see someone with such potential end up playing for an Also-ran team.

That is exactly why any Junior that is capable of being a #1 pick, if their chances of going to a career killing team are there, come back their senior year and hope for a better team that had been missing on their type of talent that caused that teams record fall to a first Rd pick....

Wrong......
You cant play that game. You have no idea who may be drafting the following season.
If you are a first round pick you go. Gi get your money and get set for life. Can always finish your degree later
