FEELING BETTER ABOUT THE HEISMAN...

Dec 9, 2015, 9:12 AM

Looking at the last 25 years, to my amazement, there has been only one Heisman winner from Alabama, so maybe the Heisman voters aren't swayed as much by ESPN and SEC bias as I thought.

Eight of the last 10 winners were Quarterbacks.

Seventeen of the last 25 were Quarterbacks.

The pundits are starting to talk more about Watson and less about Henry, so I'm thinking they're hearing things behind the scenes and want to get on the bandwagon.

This would be such a great thing for Clemson and Deshaun Watson!!!

But Henry is like one of the top 30 rushers of all time

and it only took him twice as many carries to do it

He just had to find the right college team. The the only one that still runs a 1980 offense.

Gallman would have Henry's #'s if he ran Ala.?

He is running just fine with ours. #4 is the main part of the engine that runs the #1 team in the country. #4 He Is Man!

The voting ended Monday, didn't it?***

I think Alabama has only had 1 Heisman winner ever.

Correct. I could've won the Heisman behind the line

that Ingram played with.

I do think a lot of the voters don't have the time, energy,

or even desire to really make an informed decision so it usually comes down to media hype and regional voting.

Most of the people out here don't stay up late to watch guys like McCaffrey (I know I really didn't). Likewise, you can assume the SE is going to be split between Henry and Watson (hopefully). That means the Midwest and Northeast voters will probably decide to a large degree who wins this one.

You gotta figure Elliott at OSU is going to get a lot of Midwest votes (at least in their top 3) as well.

I do think it'll be one of the closest races ever but I unfortunately expect to see DW come in at #3.

I think Henry squeaks by as the winner with McCaffrey a close second.

I also think a lot of voters who are on the fence will give Henry the nod since he's a Jr. and is likely to go pro, whereas Watson and McCaffrey are both Sophomores--"Oh, they'll both be in the running next year and they can win it then."

Not so fast my friend!

I think the RB vote is split. I suspect some regional downgrading of the competition (i.e. west coast voters downgrade Henry to give their guy a better shot). I suspect all the voters who consider QB the most important position go for Watson. I don't expect any regional downgrade of Watson. I think Watson will win, maybe not the most 1st place votes, but high on all ballots and that will be enough to outpoint this bevy of good RBs.

Unfortunately, ESPN heavily influences the Heisman voting.

Dec 9, 2015, 9:40 AM

They picked Henry. It's not right, but that is the way it is. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm looking for 2nd place.

The dramatic shift in Heisman odds from Vegas suggests

they have a very good idea as to who will win. Watson had a great game Saturday yet went from 5-1 last week to 22-1 this week.
