For the Brad extension callers

He already got an extension in after last season, he does not yet need another one.

“After a groundbreaking season, Clemson men’s basketball head coach Brad Brownell is getting paid. Clemson’s Athletic department announced on Friday that Brownell is signing a five-year contract extension that will pay him $11 million per year, which makes him the highest paid college basketball coach.”

This is from an article, and I don’t know where the highest paid coach statement comes from, but he’s being paid very well.

Brad will not be fired, nor should he be after this year. It’s been a pretty successful year overall, and there’s really no reason to fire him, UNLESS Clemson goes and lays an absolute egg Thursday night and goes to stupid NIT. That’s the only way Neff rethinks things.

So Brad will not be fired, unless he's fired? Got it.***

Without an ACC Tourney Championship game run...

we aren't making the NCAAs. That is NOT a successful season. It doing just enough to squeak by. Just like Brown-L has done here for 13 years.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Why are so many people simply looking at 1 season?

If this was Brads first or second year - of course he would not be on the firing list.
But after 13 and the needle not moving, we know what we have and what the limitations and expectations are - why would one good season against a horrid ACC and a embarrassing OOC schedule - with 4 losses to teams ranked worse than 185 - save his job?

That’s like making bogie on the first 17 holes and birdieing 18 and proclaiming you are a scratch golfer. Tomorrow, you will be back to bogey golf.

If brad has now “figured it out” - it forces the question - why now? After 13 years?

Plus, I am fearful we will take a step back next year when we loose Tyson and Galloway and maybe others. Just those two accounted for about 27 points a game.

I'm not sure where that quote came from, but there is no way in hades that he is making 11 million "per year".
