For those of y'all who went to Clemson

In the mid to late '90's like I did, who would have thought we would be witnessing this special run in Clemson football? This is truly a special time!

What about us from Class of 75. Have you heard of Red Parker or Hootie Ingram. Some tough years.
It's great now. Wow. Love being a Tiger.

Is this an Alumni thread? I love Alumni threads.

As 1992 alumnus, I saw some really good teams that would get punt rooskied or would pull a Clemson at Duke while ranked #7. Saw the end of Ford and the beginning of Hatfield.
I figured a run like this would happen like this eventually. Glad I'm young enough to enjoy. Already have my Tampa flight booked.

I graduated in Dec of 1973. I was there through 3 head coaches and 5 losing seasons! We used to talk about winning 7 games and a bowl bid! My son graduated last December. Five 10 win seasons with bowl games and a NC runnerup!

Check out our performance from 1968-72 when I was a student. I told my brother yesterday when we were coming back from the game. .."who'd have ever thunk it? "

2000-2004
Had both coaches daughters in our dorm room for CU vs Citadel 2000
I think we got up to about 4th in the rankings then.

Class of '75 agrees.
So our BBall team is like our football team was in 1975? So does that mean that if I manage to live 40 more years that our BBall team will make the Final Four?

I was in school for the death of the Clemson program in 1992. I never imagined it would take us 20 years to win the ACC again . I had become bitter and thought Tommy bowden would stay forever and deliver 8-4 seasons until I went insane.
When Dabo was promoted I was ready to slit my wrist. Boy was I wrong...

Those of us that went in the 60's 2 early 70's remember how exciting it was to have a winning season. Man 7-4 and going to a bowl. As you'd say, we was in high cotton. Those were a lot of fun too but nuttin like this!!!!

the Tommy West era was painful, but better than Hatfield

Bowden was a chronic underachiever who hired and retained awful assistant coaches. I was Swinney's biggest skeptic when we hired him full time. I just thought that we could attract a coach with a heavier resume. That was true, but TDP obviously had an eye for talent. Swinney did have some growing pains early in his tenure. Hiring Billy Napier as OC was not the right decision, but that did not become apparent until after Spiller graduated. Enter Morris, who groomed Elliott and Scott from day one, and the rest is history. I'd also say that Brooks, Hobby, and Caldwell don't get enough credit for the current run. LOS has been solid, especially on the DL. That is one of the reasons why we have done well in close games (in addition to having a gamer like Watson).
