Well played.
Looking back now its easy to see it was never about getting a shot at 3rd base. I think it came down to money, plain and simple. What's his name chose NIL money over loyalty and teammates. Bakich sent him to Cape Cod to develop more as 3rd baseman. He got re-recruited while he was there and couldn't say no to the brown bag promises. Guaranteed money at Tenn vs bet on yourself at Clemson. He chose the path of least resistance.
For what it's worth, had ole what's his name not left we probably would not have Jacob Hinderleider. Who is proving to be way more versatile on the infield and clutch at the plate.
