FSU and Clemson are the face of ACC Football

FSU dominated every ACC team last year, and with the exception of FSU, Clemson did the same.
Right now, FSU can beat any SEC team, and Clemson has demonstrated it can beat upper tier SEC teams except for SC, and your games against SC are always competitive. IMO, the depth of successful coaching experience has been the deciding difference in your last 5 against SC.
This is a pivotal year for Clemson, and another 10 or 11 win season will establish Clemson nationally as a generally recognized top 10 team.
There are many reasons Clemson is not getting the pre-season respect which most Clemson fans believe you deserve. One of those reasons is actually your great Orange Bowl win. Your defense was great, and Boyd and Watkins set Orange Bowl records for QB and WR positions. It was those 2 players with a great supporting cast that had 2013 pre-season projections for you to make the NCG. Most fan basses tend to rationalize the voids created by departing star players regardless of whether or not there is any real evidence of having back-ups with similar abilities. The flip-side is often similarly biased with inclinations of over-stating their team's strengths.
This is the season CFB will see if Clemson reloads or rebuilds, and most of the prognosticators think it will be more rebuilding than reloading. That remains to be seen, and many strong opinions will be formed when you play UGA.
I hope you have another 11 win season.

Well said Nole man!!
With the exception of last years meltdown against your Noles, the series between CU & FSU is becoming epic!!
There is no doubt orange colored glasses being worn (me included) when it comes to our disdain for lack of respect!
We have proven in the past that we can play with FSU and even win in Tallahassee as well as compete and win against top tier "SEC" competition.
Unfortunately (for now) I don't think we will get over that lack of respect hump until we beat our biggest rivals in USUCK!
As I can recall your Seminoles had a struggle against the Gators not all that long ago, but Jimbo found a way to right that ship! Being a Clemson fan, I am no real "fan" of FSU as you can imagine but at least I respect the fact that an ACC team ended that "streak" against the SEC!!
I think both FSU and Clemson are building championship caliber teams and I truly believe that in time the "road to the NC", if you will.....will lead right through the ACC Atlantic Division!!

returning can 'one up' the previous year. We do try to rationalize our strengths, many times overestimating them, while somewhat ignoring possible weaknesses.
Honestly, I believe Tajh brought certain aspects to a game that will be hard to replace, like his running ability. However, I also believe that mentally he would have trouble dealing with head games, something Stoudt may not have issues with. I think the QB position is a trade off. We get less of a bruising QB, and one that maybe has a little more poise and patience.
As for Sammy, he'll be missed. He could open up opportunities for our other WRs. We have recruited talent at WR and now I believe it is more spread across the field with no real Sammy-esque threat...just more balanced.
I wouldn't be surprised if we go 9-3 or 11-1...I know it'll be tough replacing those caliber players. I just look for our offense to have a new identity, rather than simply believing it'll be better...

Well said.
I think our defense will be as good as there is in cfb this year, and I believe they will win games that we have usually relied on our offense to win in recent years.
But like you said, it won't take us long to figure out what we got. 3 months from today we will know whats up.

Wow, Thanks for the well wishes. That was a great post.
As far as some of the points you made, yes, it will be interesting to see if we are 'reloading or rebuilding'. Like you noted, both of our biggest stars from last year's OB win are gone, so as a collective, we are really clueless on what the offense will bring. I can promise you one thing though, this D is going to be NASTY. Probably the best we've seen here since 89-90, and it's going to take a #### good offense to put up some points on us.
Thanks again, and yes, FSU and Clemson are the ACC's best chances to play for the big trophy.

SCAR has a face too. It is two lobed , slightly hairy and has a filthy brown hole in the middle.
If you've ever been to their dump of a stadium when the air is still you know what I mean.
