Game Day Restaurants

Always done the tailgate thing but looking to change it up a little for the USUC game. Say game time is 7 can I show up downtown around 2 and find a decent place to eat and have a few beers without a getting caught in a big mess? Thinking I could hang until 4 or so and then make my way toward stadium.
Any suggestions?

Does Jimmy Howard still run that joint? Is he even still alive? I used to have a friend that bartended in there and I used to occasionally go and sit watch. Man, that guy was a mess.
