Georgia just passed NIL for HS athletes

Going to be interesting to see how 15-18 year olds handle making more then their teachers. The transfer portal has also ramped up in the HS ranks. What STUDENT athletics is turning into is insane right now.

If you wanted to play beyond HS, your choice was to play college ball. Where else could they go. That's called a monopoly.

And makes perfect sense to pay HS kids more then their teachers. While we are at it why don’t we just remove them from school they shouldn’t have to waste their time in a class that they don’t get paid for.

You'd think we'd be getting very close to the point of many fans of college and high school football saying enough is enough, this is not for me anymore.

No, dabo was right. Years ago Coach said college football will look like the European and world soccer model. If you are a minor and good enough to make a pro team you can play.
I lived in Europe for 7 years. Every town has a pro team. Just on different levels of competition. The stadium s are always full. No one cares.
Its only in this country, with basketball and football, that we want to control what a kid can make
Country needs to grow up. It's a free market. The sooner an athlete learns about $ and business the better.

Then don't force them to be enrolled in any classes.

It after all interferes with the most important thing...the ability of the kids to make money. Stop with the charade already.

All I spend on tickets, drivjng, hotels , home rentals, eating out etc.. it’s fun but I’m at the point in life I’d rather fish off my dock w boiled pnuts and watch the game on TV. I’ll cherry pick the big season games, any league championships and bowls annd pay a premium for those tix I really want to go to. All this Nil begging and the greed of seat pricing by Iptay is a turn off. I do love the tigers and Clemson university school but time is valuable. It’s gotten out of hand

Recently, I read that ZERO students in Baltimore passed the minimum state of Maryland proficiency in 8th grade mathematics. Hopefully for Georgia, this NIL situation will not destroy their public educational system.

It is since HS FB is not a cash cow. If I were the board of education, I would ban all HS sports. You can't have just NIL for FB. It has to apply to all sports or none. That would essentially kill college FB unless some colleges started fielding farm teams of HS age players. What a effing mess. Just do away with all of FB below the pro level and let the NFL figure out how to get players.

I remember now this was going to be a thing, seems a mess, yeah the old way is dead. the new way is boring, its mostly hype kind of like ESPN has essentially just turned into one big podcast was bored of shout shows 15 years ago.
Now that colleges can pay for recruits its already made recruiting/signing day boring, I remember the class when Clemson snagged Jackson Carmen and Justyn Ross last day, you will never see that vibe excitement/ever again not from just Clemson but just in general.
I blame the SEC schools with the mindset of if you're not cheating you're not trying, the tv networks, i blame the pointless ncaa......well now that cheating is legal i dont think scum cheats like bama uga and lsu since socal texas and others can simply outspend them 3 times over for players.........now all of a sudden they want rules too late.

engineered for a high school recruit's announcement, I joked among friends: "This cr*p will soon enough seep on down to the peewees."
I can see it set up in a kindergarten, complete with news media, mikes and a gaggle of kiddies clapping and yelling, when Little Johnny announces, "My Mommie said I can go pway next year for the Hookey Pookey Ewementry Bumblebees...Yeah!" AND he's handed a check for $10....
The adults involved in all this unmitigated horsemanure have lost their minds!
