Agree. He will be a big part of CLEMSON football for a few more seasons. As will V Smith.

but the kid is an interference magnet! I am yet to see him make a positive play beginning with the ACC Championship kick-offs last year and ending with the errant OSU throw that luckily hit him in the facemask last night. Hope he improves, but I fear the few weeks he was committed to the Coots have jinxed him thus far at CU.

Did you see the BC game? The kid will be an elite corner for us next year.

Hope you are correct. Right now the ratio of mishaps/penaltys vs # of plays is not good.

write Fields off but the penalties concern me. But I think all our DB's have gotten flagged a lot this season.

If he doesn't make the interference it's a catch for a TD! Turned out to be a real good play.
Excuse me for being positive!

Or expecting a true sophomore with few reps

last year to play like a 5th year senior. Do any of these people remember Cordrea his second year? Mac Alexander's are the exception at CB, not the rule.

IN all honesty, if your not in a good position to make a play on the ball and your beat deep, in college it's best to just go ahead and tackle the man.
I'll take the 15 everytime vs 50+ yard touchdowns

ball where we basically ran in to the receiver coming back to it. Our DB's had very few true busts this year, especially compared to last year

Those were 2 good pass interferences. I'd rather you do that than get beat deep for td.

I totally agree with that ^^^ but my concern was how far the WR managed to get behind Fields to begin with. It left Fields with no other choice than the PI.

Yea they caught him off guard, they hadn't threw a downfield pass all game.
You had to think it would come at some point, just didn't know when.
he was just a step off.

I believe that was the first times he had a chance

Or time to throw downfield. The announcers acted like that was the first time he tried it but he had been looking to on several plays but had rip roaring Tigers ?? in his face and had to throw it away or take a sack.
Our defense played in their backfield. It looked like our DL was to the QB for the handoff about the same time as the RB...lol

a little. But he definitely has that fire and the talent to be great, at least it looks like it to me. He just needs to channel it.

I'm thinking Dumbo McRae may have been thinking more that it was Dye as the possible transfer but that he has decided stay.

had a tough PI last night and was right there until the throw went short.
whatever he does, I hope it works out for him.
I personally think that the growth plan Dabo requires is a good transition
for any young person who really wants to be a man.

Can he defend a WR without getting flagged for PI?

Seems like everytime someone throws his way, he wraps up the WR. He has potential, but his coverage mechanics need work.

So, i think he needs a lot of time with film study. He's actually right on the WR most of the time, in great position, and then does the classic PI stuff like not turning to find the ball or running into the WR.
He's athletically gifted enough.
He's motivated enough.
And tries to play with Mackenzie type swag.
But if he can't finish the play, it's all a waste.
He is gonna be in a dog fight for a job next summer with Mullen and the 2 talented freshmen (AJ Terrell, L Williams)

I think it's mechanics. Maybe not reading the wr eyes and tendencies. When he learns to train himself to spot the ball the pi's will be few.
Agree with all. 15 better than td.
