Interesting info vs SEC

Alabama is leading the SEC with a 7-1 record in conference play...

The coots are tied for second at 6-2!

The SEC is labelled as one of the top conferences this year, and some projections have as many as 8-9 teams from SEC making the tourney, compared to 3-4 for the ACC...

Yet, Clemson has only played two teams from the SEC, and won both! They were the top two teams listed above! Clemson is currently tenth in the ACC...

Something is not right here!

It's like David Hood poasted the other day. The false narrative the media puts out is that the ACC is weak. This is self perpetuating in that when we beat another ACC team it doesn't help with the NET rankings, because the ACC is viewed as weak. If we lose to another ACC team it is viewed as a bad loss, and it hurts us. The exact opposite can be said for the SUC. A conference win really helps their NET ranking, and a loss to another SUC member doesn't hurt their ranking.
The same can be said with football and the B1G.
The ACC IS getting a raw deal, and it has affected our market perception. It doesn't matter who we beat out of conference, if you tell a lie enough times people will believe it.

If you really believe trump is an insurrection it’s you are an idiot. Those “insurrectionist” walked in the capitol after the police let them and they took pictures and videos. That’s it. That’s all they did. Now they are being persecuted and sentenced to as much as 10 years in prison. Absolutely laughable. Yet, during the blm riots the people who burnt small businesses to the ground, attacked police, and civilians yet they walk free today.

Why did Trump ask Pelosi to call the National Guard in if it was an insurrection. Why did she refuse. You don’t put fences up around the capital when there are fair elections. It just don’t happen. At least the Dems aren't saying that the January 6 riot -- that caused the deaths of 6 people and serious injuries to 142 police and Capitol security workers -- was a simple stroll and tour of the building, like Stefanik and TheRump have been saying.

And, now FoxFakeNews is saying that Taylor Swift is working for the Pentagon to change the minds of Republican voters. Ha! ha! You can't make this stuff up! That's insane!

As the lawyer for FoxFakeNews told the judge in the defamation suit brought by Dominion Voting Systems (that paid $870M to Dominion): "No one in their right mind believes all the things said on Fox News." (In other words, you wd have to be insane to believe all the stories that FoxFakeNews puts out as news. In other words, FoxFakeNews is lying to the viewers every day. And THEY are way more honest than TheRump and the right-wing news sources.)

During TheRump's 4 years as president, he told more than 30,000 confirmed lies. That's 20.5 lies per day on news that reached the media. (He probably lied to his staff 100 times per day.)

Of course, TheRump is still trying to sell THE BIG LIE that the election was stolen -- even after 60 court cases about voter fraud his lawyers requested were thrown-out or lost. Yes, that's right, his lawyers lost 60 cases and won zero. Most of those judges were Republicans and some were appointed by TheRump's admin.
All he's got are lies...

Let me know how the GOP thinks we can strengthen our boarder with less patrol agents, less judges processing amnesty claims, and less equipment used to detect fentanyl.

The problem started on the day Slow Joe took office and he halted the immigration policies of the previous administration.

More illegal immigrants crossed the border in Beijing Biden's first year in office than in all four year under Trump. I believe Biden's total is now in the 12 million range.

The Biden Administration sparked the worst border crisis in American history and placed Americans’ lives at risk by abandoning deterrent-focused immigration policies and proven border enforcement tools. Biden blaming Congress is just another deflection tactic and is absolutely ludicrous.

He has a constitutional obligation and he has all the legislative levers from the executive branch to actually secure the border, but he has failed for three plus years to do anything. Not surprisingly, he waited until an election year to even remotely consider doing something about a giant mess that is totally, completely, and entirely of his own making.

The capitol “riots” didn’t not cause the deaths of 6 people. Quit taking the New York Times as fact. 2 Trump supporters died of heart attacks. One died of an accidental overdose. Another Trump supporter, a woman and an Air Force veteran, was shot and killed by capitol police. One capitol officer died of a stroke 8 hours AFTER the “riots”. 4 capitol officers committed suicide. 2 of which got to the capitol after the riot had ended and the building secured. What you are seeing in basketball already occurs in football. Rankings write the narrative. Cannot stand the coots, but the fact that prior to them beating Tennessee they had beaten Kentucky and Kentucky stayed ranked in the top ten and the coots did not crack the top 25 is laughable. The numbers don't mean shid and are only used to position teams to better write the economical narrative.

The narrative does not mean anything? Well, if the narrative gets 9 SEC teams in the tourney, but only 3 ACC teams, then the payday amounts are adjusted greatly. the acc won head to head against the big10 in football and basketball in W-L. the acc also tied the sec in the basketball challenge and won several other games outside the challenge. the acc also won the head to head vs the sec in football W-L. I'm not saying any of that proves the ACC is the best, but it certainly is an odd narrative to push (that the SEC or Big10 is dominating) when it literally is not the case.

It’s really not that complicated. Clemson, Duke, and UNC are almost universally agreed to be the teams that will make it in. That’s based on pre-conference play results which is why the rest of the league is regarded so badly. So let’s skip them. Let’s look at the rest.

Virginia - lost a Dec game to Notre Dame. That’s their only black mark. But, at that early point in the season ND had lost to Western Carolina, Georgetown, and The Citadel. They looked to be taking Louisville’s place as the worst team in P5 basketball. The message since the advent of NET is don’t lose to really bad teams. It killed us last year and is giving UVA a massive uphill climb. They can get there but they have to win a bunch more games - something people don’t believe you’ll do when you lose to Notre Dame.

FSU went 6-5 in non-conference with losses to Lipscomb, South Florida, and SMU. Then ran out to a 6-3 record spreading that stink over the entire conference. Warren Nolan projects them to finish 3-8 in the same projections that have us finishing 4th.

NC State avoided the bad losses - by having the 302nd rated SOS. They still lost all 3 games against non-terrible teams they played.

WF played a weak non-conference schedule (187) but dodged the bad loss. They also have zero quad one wins and have only played three quad one games. Yet they’re generally regarded as being on the bubble.

Miami - another bad schedule with no signature wins. Currently their only quad one win is VT on the road. They lost to Louisville who are 6-15 and ranked 222/261 NET/RPI. And they lost to them at home. You can’t lose to really bad teams.

Syracuse - started out great. Very competitive non conference schedule going 8-2. Now 5-5 in ACC with bad losses to Florida State and Boston College

Pitt - another absolutely lousy strength of schedule - 273rd. Lost the two decent games they played. 4-6 in conference. Signature win over Duke.

BC, GT, ND, Louisville - these are bad basketball teams who all have very bad losses. Every time one of them beats anyone else in the ACC, not in this group, it does damage to the rest of the conference.

The ACC has the distinction of having the two worst teams in P5 basketball - Notre Dame and Louisville - and it’s not even close. GT is more in the company of merely terrible teams, like 8-13 Missouri. BC is akin to Minnesota or Yale.

Sure. Starting from the bottom

13/14 Vanderbilt / Missouri - they’re bad. 5-8 and 8-5 non conference respectively. Bad strengths of schedule but high 100s, not in the 200s. Most importantly they are a combined 0-15 against the rest of SEC.

12 Arkansas - played a competitive non conference schedule ranked 55 and went 9-4. They have no quad 4 losses. They have a quad 1 win. They also have only 2 SEC wins, one against Missouri and Texas A&M - so doing no damage to anyone in the upper half of the conference.

11 Miss St - 11-2 non conference against the 129 schedule. Only 3-5 in conference but their losses are to teams with an 83-23 record. They have 3 quad 1 wins. Their NET ranking is similar to Clemson. This is the 11th place team in the SEC. They are 37 in NET to Clemson’s 33rd. They’re project as a 9 seed to Clemson’s 6.

10 LSU - 8-5 against high 100s. Non conference strength of schedule. 3-4 against an easier SEC draw. Not on any tournament projections.

9 Texas A&M very respectable 9-4 against 66th ranked non conference schedule. 3-4 in conference. Projected 10 seed not appearing on 10% of brackets on bracket matrix.

8 Georgia 10-3 against 79th non conference schedule. No quad 3 or 4 losses

7 Florida 10-3 against 84th non conference schedule. Zero quad 2, 3, or 4 losses.

6 Kentucky 10-2 non conference. 2 quad 1 wins. No quad 4 losses.

5 ole Miss 13-0 non conference

4. Tennessee 10-3 against the 5 ranked non conference schedule. 3 quad 1 wins. No quad 3 or 4 losses.

3. Auburn. Auburn is 17-4. They have played a particularly competitive schedule. But their 4 losses are all quad 1. And they’re still only projecting as a 5 seed, one better than Clemson. They’re ranked #16 is the latest AP poll. That would normally equate to 4 seed.

2. South Carolina 18-3 but still only projected as a 7 seed.

1 Alabama 15-6. 3 quad 1 wins zero quad 3 or 4 losses. The 6 losses jumps out but they have the 5 overall and 7 non conference SOS.

The ACC resume just doesn’t compare. You can’t blow a bunch a games non-conference then start beating each other up in conference and cry that the system isn’t fair. Win your games. When the ACC was viewed as the dominant conference it ran roughshod over the non-conference slate.
