GOR Versus the Media Agreement ........

Are we getting these two mixed up?

Apparently the Media Agreement is separate from the GOR and that is the document that apparently is so difficult for the member schools to access. The lady attorney from Florida State mentioned that the Media Agreement was the one in which she was not able to photo of make verbatim notes.

Question: Was the media deal also the same exact length as the GOR and is there no room for negotiation to increase it in the near future? If money is the issue, isn't that where our and FSU efforts should be?

Apparently, ESPN can escape the media deal in 2027 but the institutions can't leave the GOR? and the deal has provisions for if a member institution leaves? But the GOR does not? But the institutions were told the GOR was a requirement for the deal?

Is that your understanding of the argument?

That is my understanding too. I just wonder if ESPN can escape the media deal in 2027, then do we have any leverage to renegotiate? If it is all about money, which ultimately it is, I wonder why more effort isn't being put in to that ......... maybe it is. Frankly, I would like to see the ACC stay intact with some creative thinking to increase the pay-outs.

I still don't know why football (at least the major conference schools) cannot be separated out with all other sports remaining in their perspective conferences. Football revenue could still be used to support the other sports.

Maybe. Either way, if one or the other agreements (GOR or Media) is not available in a copy form to all the ACC schools it still seems like chicanery.

league itself. It was enacted to ensure a stable league roster to allow for the investment needed for an ACC Network essentially.

The Media Rights deal is between the league and ESPN. With a GOR in place, ESPN could rely on the current mix being in place for the duration.

The whole thing, reeks of desperation and willingness to whoreout a deal by desperare former Commissioner and traitor, John Swofford.

Excuse me while I spit. Feels nasty even typing that anallpore's name.
