Congratulations to Lucas! These perks might mean more than the check he picked up today:

"By advancing to the TOUR Championship, all 30 of the qualifiers secured exemptions into the 2024 editions of the Masters, U.S. Open and The Open Championship. Each also now is equipped with a two-year PGA TOUR membership exemption." -from PGATour.com

He had a great year…but I think those last three holes sealed his fate. Very little chance of being named to the team…and if we are being completely impartial, doesn’t appear to have the mental toughness it takes to compete in the Ryder Cup…yet.

With his resurgence this year, next year could be a very good year for Lucas…will be pulling for him!

Mental Toughness? His mental toughness kept him in the game while he basically sucked for 10 years putting. He is plenty tough ... what he may be is exhausted ... looked at the calendar he has played the last couple of months just to get to this point ... and the conditions involved.

Lucas, doubt you are going to get the call for RC, but HELLUVA year. Hope you pick up next year right where you left off.

I tend to agree. Most 43 year olds aren't playing 30 tournaments a year. That is grueling...

Had he not lost those 3 shots at the end, he would have been T9 but the payout was only about 230K more so those bad holes didn't cost him that much. However, had he finished in the Top 10, his chances to make the RC would have been better and that is probably the biggest hurt of all for him.

If he makes the RC, he won't care about the lost money at all.

Yep...you're right...RC would be a great blessing to end

this year. I still believe he'd be a great team mate and player for the U.S.
