Well GT has a pretty good opportunity to hire a decent coach

this year. There currently aren't any big jobs open and UNC just went full ###### hiring Mack Brown, so that leaves GT in a nice position to grab one of the top G5 coaches. I assume somebody like Neal Brown would be interested in the GT job.

johnson helped them ride out some academic sanctions and I get the feeling GT ha been saving its money over the last decade and may reinvest back into football soon. that is actualy a pretty admirable W/L record when you consider how limited his support/ resources were there.

Whoever they get to replace PJ...

has one he!! of a rebuilding job ahead of them.
It will take three or four recruiting cycles just to get the players needed to run a more conventional offense.

Already talk of Malzahn to GT with Auburn paying a lesser buyout.

I'm not sure if Auburn has the commitment to Malzahn. If he can make all the money he's due. He might be happier at GT where there's less pressure.

if Malzahn wants out of Auburn as badly as Auburn seems to want him out.

If he's stupid enough to have his buyout reduced. You could be on to something. He's probably never getting a better job than Auburn in the future.

GT gets a pretty good coach, Malzahn gets to keep coaching, Auburn gets rid of Malzahn, and Auburn reduced the payout to Malzahn by whatever GT agrees to pay him.

I almost think the defense is a bigger issue

Trying to transition to a new offense with that defense is going to be pretty rough. A good offensive coach can do a lot with just scheme and a few good players. In order to have a good defense you have to have a lot of good players.. plain and simple.

I am glad. Although I like how easy it is for our us to beat Gtech, I would prefer they get better. The ACC needs to step it up. I hope they get a great hire.
