GT has a new QB coach named Weineke. TP will get some quality coaching and may be just the guy to get them rolling. I hope so. The ACC needs to be stronger.

Apologize in advanced that you’re going to have to kick your old QB pal’s A££.

I'm afraid the ACC's best days are behind it in football.

Wait, what happened to the high profile QB freshman they had last year that showed so much promise?

--- from YardCrap
CLEMSON at GT (Sep 5th)
Last year we squeaked out a 14-8 win. This year we got to go to Atlanta on a Monday.
Last year we lost this game in all stats but points. Our QB only had 129 yards with a rating of just 29, theirs was 65.1. Clemson Freshman Will Shipley ran for two TDs and we won the game.
This year we will line up with the same QB. They will have Taisun Phommachanh who is a great 4star who spent 3 years at Clemson and knows us inside out.
This week at media days one of their best players (Zamari Walto) --> "Last year we lost by single digits, and that has been burning in my soul". "We will be ready, we are very excited". "This is our breakout year. It is going to be a shocker. We are going to win".
==============
All-time series --> Georgia Tech leads, 50–34–2.

This year we will not be missing key starters, and be coming off a devastating loss to the eventual National Champions, in an incredibly physical opening game. Much different team this season! Go Tigers!

Anybody who thinks the game with Georgia Tech will be easy

has obviously not been reading my daily "History Lessons" that go along with OJ's Hill Watch.
Playing Tech in Atlanta has NEVER been easy. Sure, there have been isolated times when we beat them handily, but for most of recorded history, Atlanta, particularly Grant Field, has been a House of Horrors for Clemson.
We better go in there expecting a battle, because we are going to get one.

Agree 100%
Plus throw in the fact, that "they believe" they gave it away last season and you have the makings of the bees playing above their heads. If the Tigers come out flat expecting to dominate early/often it could be one of those uncomfortable nail-biters!
When I fish, I like for it to be sporty. When I am watching my favorite team, I don't want it to be contested. But, to your point, GT has given Clemson Hades over the years and we have no reason to believe this year will be any different. Their coach finally has more of his type player in the fold and less of the option-oriented roster; so we will certainly see a better spread offense-oriented team.

Sometimes athletes play better when their virtual backs are against the virtual wall. Playing in enemy territory on National TV just might bring out the "Roar"!
I think top to bottom Clemson has better coaches, players, and general staff at this moment in time than the Georgia Institute of Technology does.
You know the Coaches are going to have them amped up telling them how everyone is going to be looking for them to fail! And how GT thinks their better than you! And how you have to show the world we never went anywhere! The warrior spirit will be called on and those kids who have "the dog" in them will love the challenge GT will present and thrive!
Tigers win!

Clemson is way beyond where tech is right now

The two programs are so far apart. One is a perennial national championship contender, the other a bottom dwelling acc team. As far as history, just look at the last several years. They are way more indicative of the state of these two programs and what we should expect to see september 5. Last year was the anomaly, not all those beat downs that preceded it. Tech struggles to move the ball at all, clemson offense looks better, and tigers roll.

I appreciate Dabo being loyal and suportive of DJ but if he does not improve , and looks like he did some last year , he has to make a move to the freshman , next man up !!!!! May AS WELL get him some game experience .

Good point but I would argue that for most of their history they have not been this terribly untalented. I expect a blowout unless we get last year's DJ. Pulling for him hard.

I think the better question is how many times will the GT QB turn over the ball to our defense? The defense will be ready. If the offense plays a decent game, we'll be fine.
