Don't worry, South Carolina is now committed to 4-year scholarships.

Essentially Every College Athlete is on a One Year Renewing Scholarship. It's Very Sad.

The rules changed to allow the four year guarantees. Doesn't mean they are unconditional - coaches will still get rid of players for the same assortment of reasons.

Would someone smarter than I please explain how that works? If the school is guaranteeing a four year scholly that doesn't mean the coach can't kick them off the team? If they do kick them off the team the school still must honor the four year scholly but does that free the team to sign another player ? Is there a limit to how often this can happen? Does this have anything to do with the northwestern decision and unionizing? I'm not up on the NCAA rules enough to understand. Little too complicated for me. Thanks in advance. I hope someone who really understands will give a detailed answer.

I think their scholly can be pulled like it is now... An example of the 4 year deal is that a player can declare for the draft his junior year, come back to school however many years later and they will pay to finish his schoolin.... At least thats some of what I picked up on hearing about it the other day

They are guaranteed a scholarship for 4 years not guaranteed to be on the team for 4 years. Really doesn't change anything. Guys don't typically lose their schlarships unless they started as a walk-on and get a 1-year deal. There will still be guys who are told to transfer, who quit, etc.

Crybaby, lol....stooge, I honestly don't care one way or another if spurrier is racist - that's on him... And from the looks of things, I bet spurrier would value your opinion as much as everyone else on the tnet.....but seriously, the guys a racist bc he's never had a black qb? Explain racism, does he not get extra points or something for fielding black athletes in every other position on the field or is that negated by the fact that he's probably never had a black punter either?
