I believe it was all consensual. If he were guilty of what he has been accused of, he would have settled long ago.

I agree, I believe it was consensual, however, that doesn’t change the fact that Deshaun was a complete idiot for his actions. He has to be smarter than that, he is a high profile guy and terrible people are going to want to take advantage of him. He can’t give them such an amazing opportunity to do so. His actions have no impact on Clemson. There have been no claims that anything similar was happening during his time at Clemson. That’s like saying Aaron Hernandez gave Florida a bad name.

I hate to say it but I think he’s guilty. I just hope he can prove that it’s consensual.

He's guilty of being a massive idiot without a doubt and possibly a perv too. He may end up surpassing Martavis as the biggest moron to go from Clemson to the upper levels of the NFL, only to pi55 it all away because of incredibly poor judgement. Why #### you would ever visit 2 dozen (or whatever) different female masseuses for a massage and/or the "Henry Lee" when you are this high profile of a person is amazingly stupid. Unfortunately for him, he was at odds with his team, so they more than likely helped the "investigation" along. Rothlesberger pulled some pretty shady/more criminal crap and he totally skated. The difference is that the Steelers WANTED him to survive. RObert Kraft is an NFL owner, so he got to skate too. DeShaun was expendable to the Texans. He overplayed his hand and here he sits.

He is neither........

He is neither....there is no guilt or innocence in a civil case. The jury will only find "in favor of the plaintiff or the defendant". The verdict does not have to be unanimous as in a criminal case and the test is a "preponderance of the evidence" not "beyond a reasonable doubt".
It seems a lot hinges on the findings of the Houston Police Department who have been investigating for a while now if there are any criminal implications. If their findings do not result in any criminal charges, the civil case pretty much falls apart because then it's only a verbal complaint and there are no laws about verbal comments, especially in the environment he was in.
And he is not morally bankrupt. He was not cheating on his family or any of that kind of stuff. I've heard several folks say he intends to carry this to the end and not settle; he's that confident in himself. Until he changes course, I believe him and believe he will come out of this unscathed and a whole lot of folks who have tried him in the court of public opinion will have egg on their face for believing a shyster lawyer who has a history of crazy antics and trying to frame celebrities for his own personal gain.

So innocent. But I will say this. He needlessly put himself in some bad situations. He should never went into these homes alone. And why does he need so many massage therapists? I believe there was more going on. But I see no evidence it was anything but consensual.

What bothers me is the Christian card he has always played

I'm a Christian, far from perfect, but I dont frequent massage parlors. There is too much smoke there for there not to have been a fire. Just feels to me that he's been playing a double hand.

If he did frequent those places, there are things you and I do that are equally sinful but probably more socially acceptable.

I always respect your opinion, but I definitely think sins are tiered. Trust me, I've exercised a variety of sins. Always a sin. Think I've reeled it in quite a bit, but still sin. Human. It's the adamant Christianity he preached that bothers me.

Guilty of behavior inconsistent with his upbringing and faith in Christ. Guilty of being male under 25 whose brain not fully developed. Guilty of having “bulletproof “ mentality that sometimes comes with instant crazy wealth and/or influence. Great young man with an embarrassing reality check who continues to need our prayers. Can’t wait to see how God brings him through.
