What happened between Marion Hobby and the saints?

He left Clemson in 2005 to be the defensive line coach for the saints from 2006- 2007 only for him to return back to college football in 2008 to be the DC at duke. Did the saints fire him or did he not enjoy coaching in the NFL?

He was replaced by Ed Orgeron...

Then the whole lot of the Saints defensive coaches were swept out the door in 2009 - as Gary Gibbs' defensive staff was tossed overboard for Gregg Williams (he of the Bountygate scandal).

Hobby's tenure at Duke was his only stint a defensive coordinator.
