Help me figure out this 3-5-5 Scheduling

Here’s how I think it works. Am I right? 2023: our 3 permanents(GaTech FLSt NCSt), plus our 1st set of 5 other conf. teams (Duke Syr Wake Mia NC). (plus 4 non-conf games: ND, SC, FLAtl etc) 2024: we play the exact same 8 conf. teams, just switch Home/Away 2025: our 3 permanents(GaTech FLSt NCSt), plus our 2nd set of 5 other conf. teams (Louis BC Pitt VA VATech). 2026: Same as 2025, except switch Home/Away. = = = = Am I right? What I am assuming here that each Home/Away series (v. 5 teams) is always in consecutive years. https://theacc.com/news/2022/6/28/acc-announces-football-schedule-model-for-2023-26.aspxACC Announces Football Schedule Model for 2023-26 GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday a new football scheduling model that will go into effect beginning with the 2023 season. The new model is based on a 3-5-5 structure whereby each team will play three primary opponents annually and face the other 10 league teams twice during the four-year cycle, once at home and once on the road. The schedule allows for each team to face all 13 conference opponents home and away at least once during the four-year cycle. The structure was adopted by the league’s athletic directors and faculty athletic representatives earlier today.

Pretty sure that's correct.

The idea is that with the new 3-5-5, we'll see every school every by the 3rd year, and play in every stadium by the 4th year.

It makes sense in a lot of ways

Sucks the we have Duke NC and Wake all in the same group. That means we won’t play any games in NC at all every 4th year.
But hopefully the ACC won’t exist in 4 years

Close... the 5 rotating teams aren't played in consecutive years except for Pitt and Miami. It'll be:
2023 Home – Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Wake Forest; Away – Duke, Miami, NC State, Syracuse
2024 Home – Louisville, Miami, NC State, Virginia; Away – Boston College, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech
2025 Home – Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Syracuse; Away – North Carolina, NC State, Pitt, Wake Forest
2026 Home – Boston College, NC State, Pitt, Virginia Tech; Away – Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Virginia

… I had a strange feeling that I had something wrong. This is reminds me of being back in Clemson, struggling in a math class back in the day.

I would like to know who decided that Clemson and Florida State were in the same pod every year. This sucks!
That works for everyone else but is essentially an elimination game for the ACC championship game every year for Clemson or Florida State.

It's not an elimination with no divisions any longer. Clemson could go 12-0, FSU 11-1 losing only to Clemson...and both still rematch in the Championship.

But look at Louisville - if they were any good

they could walk right into the Championship game since they don't play any of the top 3 teams (as predicted) this year. With no game against Clemson, FSU, or UNC, they could have a better record or at least as good as one of the "top" teams - what are the tiebreakers?
