Fan voting is part of the determination for the Golden Spikes Award winner. Please take a moment and vote for Matthew. If you are active on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) please share the link to vote at the bottom of this note. You can vote from any smart phone as well. It's as simple as checking a box for Matthew Crownover and then pressing "Submit Your Vote." Also, if you think Matthew is deserving of the award please tell why here in this thread where it will continue to pop this thread to the top of TNet. Thanks! http://web.usabaseball.com/gold

No, but I'm an old fart and it seems awkward for me to call them by their last names, since they seem like kids to me. I do realize that most of them call each other by their last names or nicknames like "Crown." I do know Matthew and his immediate and his extended family. In fact I became a Clemson baseball fan when Matthew committed to Clemson 5 1/2 yrs ago.

Everyone in Chattanooga knows the Crownovers. Matthew's mom and dad were both local multi sport stars and excellent coaches. They are also an amazing family in regard to their values and beliefs. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc are all exceptional people. They are all well known in the sports community and church community.

The fans influence on the outcome is very small, but I'm sure that receiving fan votes would be meaningful. http://web.usabaseball.com/goldenspikes/vote.jsp
From the site: *The "fans" will be treated as one "voter" in the voting process for the 2015 Golden Spikes Award, and their vote will count for ~0.5% of the overall vote (one of 219 voters in the committee). In the semifinalist round the three players receiving the highest percentage of the fan vote will each receive one vote from the "fans." In the finalist round, the one player receiving the highest percentage of the fan vote will receive one vote from the "fans."
