After a short day a work, the ballfield, Carowinds and a trip to Cabela's while keeping up with the baseball game, I'm taking it easy. Currently at Logan's in Monroe, NC. Having a beer and a club sandwich!!

Growing up in the lowcountry, our evening meal was supper. The folks I knew that ate their big meal of the day in the early afternoon called that dinner. My wife spent most of her formative years in the north and they call their evening meal dinner.

We're too pooped for cooking, so tonight its leftover ribs straight off the bone, homemade potato salad, and fruit.
Ribs from Smoke On BBQ in Brevard, NC.
Oh, and ONE Moscow Mule with Reyka Vodka from Iceland. I once googled this Reyka location and it looks as though its a large old metal building surrounded by ice and snow. The perfect place for making a great vodka.

I haven’t a clue . . . my bride is napping presently, but when I went to the grocery store today fresh turnips and roots were being stocked. They looked so good I bought 3 batches and have prepared them.
I know I’ll make a cake of cornbread . . . because . . . why not?!!! Those two may be enough to get us through . . . if not, there is egg noodles and meatballs w/ gravy from midweek that needs to find a home.
Dessert will definitely be a Cosmic Crisp Apple and Chobani Lime Yogurt w/ a fresh squeeze of lime.

Celebrating my son’s birthday on Johns Island this weekend. Steamed some oysters this afternoon and cooked some brats on the grill afterwards.
Update on my sister. She had a better day today but it sounds like the sundowner syndrome is starting to affect her again this evening. I was there this morning and she was better than yesterday. Will spend most of tomorrow with her and the folks at the hospital say the people who will be able to help us make some decisions will be back Monday. Riding the roller coaster.
