Hooters in the NIL business

Aug 22, 2022, 2:00 PM

I thought the Hooters founder was a CU grad? I don't see the Tigers listed.

His son was, and I believe he is the reason orange is their primary corporate color. Unfortunately, the son was killed in a plane crash years ago.

I miss Naturally Fresh ranch dressing

Can't find Naturally Fresh anywhere. Their ranch was the closest thing to homemade in stores.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

I was In school with the founder of Hooters. He was a Tiger graduate. The last I heard the family was in some kind of legal dispute over ownership. I think they still live in the Myrtle Beach area.

ownership, while Walk Up's & Twin Peaks is gaining on their customers. Sad if you ask me.

Robert Brooks, the father and Hooters founder, was also a Clemson grad. His donation led to The Brooks Center.

Thanks all! I did not know the history but knew there was a connection. Guess the Clemson connection is really not there anymore if I understand correctly.

His widow is still in Myrtle Beach and I am pretty sure the family sold their interest in Hooter's years ago.

The wife contested Brooks' will & won. The sons were booted out of Hooter's ownership. One son owns some of the Twin Peaks around Atlanta. The wife's family is all Coastal Carolina so their $ is going there, as I understand it.
