I get annoyed every time someone says we played in a hurricane. We DID NOT play in a hurricane. Those were rain bands stemming from a hurricane WAYYYY off shore.
More like playing in a 500yr storm event or whatever the upstate experienced.

You do realize a 500 year storm sounds much worse than a hurricane... I'm pretty sure a hurricane has hit more often than once the past 500 years ...

rain vs wind. I'd take the rain any day of the week unless I live next to a major river.

The wind does damage but the constant down pour of rain is what makes it much worse. Did you not watch the coverage of Harvey in Texas?
The flooding came from rain, not wind.

The main parts of a hurricane are the rainbands on its outer edges, the eye, and the eyewall. Air spirals in toward the center in a counter-clockwise pattern, and out the top in the opposite direction. In the very center of the storm, air sinks, forming the cloud-free eye. These are squally bands of showers characterized by strong gusty winds and heavy rains. These bands become more pronounced as the storm intensifies, and are fed by the warm ocean.
Anatomy of a Hurricane spiral rainbands, the eye wall and the eye

I get annoyed when people think that their opinion is more worthy or more correct than another persons opinion, and it drives them to public-ally say how annoyed they are with others opinions. Our world would be a much better and more peaceful when we can just agree to disagree, and don't get so annoyed if we disagree... Just saying, why should it matter when others opinions aren't offensive or offending any one....

We live in Charleston so traffic may be tough this weekend as they may start evacuations Friday afternoon and follow with a full lane reversal from Charleston to Columbia on Saturday/Sunday. Thus emergency and law enforcement will we be spread thin.

Agree bc there is nothing in this world that scares or frightens me more than hurricanes, tornadoes, and heavy thunder storms with monster lightening strikes. Those three things shake me to my core in every way that I can be effected with horror. I'm also scared of snakes, but I can easily end that fear by ending the threat.

Those with hotel reservations for the game make sure you confirm them. Reports are that hotels in our upstate and inland Georgia are filing up.

Don't think we have to worry much about it for the football game.

I just hope whoever made the call to cancel the First Friday parade is not in charge of the decision about the football game Saturday.
