My opinion about this is that the NCAA heard more than they wanted to out of FSU about being left out of the CFP and this was a bit of clapback for their insolence. As our larger institutions seem very willing to do in this new era, if you bark at the big dog, you can expect a bite in return. This was just a nip, but the message was sent.

Now it is possible that the ACC and it's members will want to pay FSU to leave the ACC...any conference would be better off without them!...NIL and portal killed the sport!...pay non student athletes to play football...athletic code of which college!

How do you even get in trouble with NIL and a lawless, impotent regulatory body such as the NCAA?

Counterfeit bills? Fake booger-sugar? Bounced checks? Night-time escorts with surprise appendages?

Must have been something bad.
