WF is giving up 500 yards of Offense a game vs a pretty weak schedule. Get creative running the ball and throwing over the middle. Just running up the gut then on 3rd and long slinging it down the sideline is getting old. That’s all !

It's more challenging to get creative offensively...

when the line can't/doesn't block, the receivers can't/don't block on the perimeter or downfield, the QB is incredibly inconsistent throwing the ball accurately, can't progress through his reads, locks-in on the primary receiver, and the receivers constantly drop the ball.
Just sayin' !!!

Tony should be able to adjust playcalls to compensate for those accurate issues you mentioned.
Sigh...

He can't be expected to make chicken salad out of chicken s**t.
Although I will admit, I have questioned some of the play calling at times this season.
As an example, we just need to completely stop running those wide receiver screens to the boundary unless and until the receivers learn to friggin' block.

playcalling has been questionable all year, however........

even when the plays are there we haven't made them.
to your chicken salad reference.................why can't the WRs catch? Why can't/doesn't the Oline block? Why is the QB bad/inconsistent?
answers are one or some combination of the following: -development -talent -recruiting busts -focus
all of the above FALLS ON THE COACHES, there's no excuse to look as bad as we look on offense.
-one game "dropsies"? understandable -one game "Oline confusion facing an unexpected defensive scheme?" ......understandable -one - two game "off game from the QB(s)?" .........understandable
it has SUCKED all year, even before the injuries started to pile up.

Most of those screens are RPOs, where DJ is counting the numbers in the box, and if the numbers aren’t right he will throw it out wide to the slot.
It never works because our receivers have to be the worst blocking receivers in the history of college football. It isn’t just this year, it’s been that way for a long time. Obviously every receiver that’s come through here isn’t a terrible blocker. It’s coaching, spacing, and scheme. Same with the offensive line.

Anyone have an insight why the spread opened favoring Clemson by 4 and after injury report it is up to 4 1/2. Only guess it is Wakes poor defense?

Wake hasn't played a road game against a team that is nearly as good defensively as Clemson.

kept us in EVERY GAME. You combine that with
-Clemson home game -somehow Clemson is still "IN" the division race (albeit slim road) -Wake has not seen a defense like ours all year
you get the spread
It will be close just like every game we've played b/c of our defense.........wouldn't be shocked if we won...........wouldn't be shocked if we lose.

That would be a perfect recipe for the first loss in DV in 5 years!!!

How about the points given up by the 2 defenses against common opponents? I know NCST scored 27 (albeit only 14 in regulation) against Venables's boys, FSU scored 20 (7 of which was a fumble return), Syracuse was 14, and Louisville was 24 (in the worst defensive showing of the year in my opinion). How has Wake's defense held up against those same offenses you ask? 42 to NCST, 14 to FSU, 37 to the 'Cuse in OT, and 34 to Louisville. Plus they gave up 58 to UNC and 56 to ARMY. They are giving up almost 41 points per game over their past 4 games and that includes a game where a woeful Duke team only scored 7. If our offense can scored 24 points, I like our chances.
Flame away
