Just saw a segment on News Nation about Florida's proposed ban on sleeping and camping on public property. They had a lady on there who opposed it, and instead said the real solution was a "basket of money" that provided "affordable housing" so that homeless people could "find their purpose".
Bless her heart. I have no doubt that her heart is in the right place, and she means well, but this is a perfect example of the problem with the left who believe the government can solve any problem with money, and the government not only has the right, but the obligation to provide "baskets of money" accordingly, with no regard for personal responsibility and an emphasis on making good choices or policies and principles that encourage or emphasize it.

then I guess you don't HAVE to apply for benefits.
Figure out a way to tie it to climate change... something about lowering the birth rate and how poor people pollute more... and that might could get some broad support.

Indeed, government is not the answer and the only outcome of giving someone money is the need to give them more money later and to give money to their kids because the kids never learned from their parent(s) what it means to value education and get a job.
