I felt that adding Syracuse, Pitt, and BC would forever change the regional feel that the ACC had at one time. Man, was I right. Now with talk of adding West Coast teams or a possible move to the BIG, those concerns seem miniscule. It appears that building a conference around basketball was a mistake. Who knew? 🙄

Well, you are correct - the whole point of conference affiliation is regional rivalry and opponent familiarity (We’ll get ‘em next year!).
A secondary point is that the non revenue sports shouldn’t have to be globetrotters to participate. I’ve flown cross country countless times and the travel takes your energy. On the flip side, I guess they can study while they travel…
For every sport but football, this whole deal is a nightmare.
Somehow, the heels and devils will end up having less travel give them an easier time. You can bet that we will be shipped to Berkeley 5 times for every they have to do it.
I know, let’s give the Grecian formulas and chain smokers their own officials, just like the ACC has done over the years.
Keep it fair boys, keep it fair…
