I guess it's an unfounded rumor, but wasn't Bud Foster

mentioned as a possible replacement if Paul Johnson gets fired at GT? Am I the only one hearing that? I live in Bama, and SEC fans are asking me about it. I never really thought Foster wanted to go anywhere else, but VT is sucking it these days. Maybe the perfect opportunity for Foster to leave a sinking ship and try to fix GT.

Bud Foster has the luxury of being picky....

because he knows he will likely be the next head coach at VT once Beamer decides to retire.

That said, I work with a bunch of GT alums and according to them, PJ's job is not in jeopardy. They all like him and firmly believe he is the right man for the job at GT.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Foster will not be the next coach at VT

they will go get a proven guy in my opinion. Just not sold on Bud Foster as a Head Coach. I hope he does take the GT job, will make out job easier. Here is to Paul Johnson being fired, no more option football

There's a reason Bud Foster hasn't had a head coach position

I think the GT alums are in DENIAL. PJ is in trouble and he probably knows it. He can't recruit the talent he needs to play in that outdated O, and that is a huge problem. He needs serious talent (like the talent he inherited) to make that O really click. Right now - he's spiraling out of control and it could just get worse.

He could possibly lose 4-5 of the last 6 games. Going 4-8 might not sit well with those alums once they figure that out. At best, GT will finish 5-7 with no bowl. But on the unlikely event that GT gets a bowl, they will lose like they have the past 5 years. That O is easier to defend when you have time to practice for it.

Bud has wanted to be a head coach for a long time

Oct 16, 2012, 2:05 PM

He interviewd at BC to replace O'Brien when he left for VT. He interviewed here at Clemson to replace TB and I think he interviewed at WVU to replace Rodriguez

he must really suck at interviewing.***

He has been the guy more than about anybody over the last few years that has really been pushing to get out of where he is. The VPI guys say that there is a reason that he has not been made a head coach and it has to do with his media skills
