tailgated. I tried finding VF one time but was given a beer and sent on my way.
But that changes this year. Kids are old enough to enjoy football games and tailgating. So the plan is since I live on the backside of Aynor, we are going to start going to more CCU games and tailgating.
So what do I need to know about tailgating? What tips/tricks/advice?
Mainly, where do yall put all of the gear when you go into the game so the native Conwayians don't steal all my equity?
I have fold out chairs and a canopy from Walmart. I have a fold out table (under the barn, probably need to clean it). I have turkey burners, etc.

FBMooch. You're not tailgating if you're not showing up with nothing and enjoying the food, beverages, shade, tv, and chairs of others that have carefully planned and provided. This way you don't have to worry about your stuff being taken.

I’d suggest assembling a wooden table, chairs and tent

Posts that you can throw a tarp over. You can leave them out at halftime, then fold up the tarp and burn it all down when your done.
Suggest pallets as your building material

A card table, and 4 card table chairs. A box with paper towels, trash bags, plastic forks and spoons, etc., and a cooler with ice cold beer and beverages. It was all packed into the trunk of a car. No tent. No generator. No gas burners and stoves/grills/ No TV's. No satellite dishes. No couches and whatnot.
Just a table, some chairs, a cooler, and some fried chicken. And a football to throw in the parking lot.
THAT IS ALL YOU NEED.
Granted I've upgraded to add a tent, and a larger table. Chairs are not card table chairs. Otherwise, that's about it, even today.

650# but we used it every week.
It was like this, but no umbrella and VERY Old School. I still have it in my garage.
We had homemade ham biscuits, coke, cantaloupe, and brownies. When I went to Clemson, I would still go to my grandparents tailgate and eat the same thing, but I brought Jim Beam and Poppy loved that. Nana, however, did not approve of the booze so we "hid" it.

Anyone know a good camping spot near Clemson?

Seriously, for $400 a night or whatever I'd assume sleep in a tent and sleeping bag. Could just set up shop in the parking lot and put the tent and stuff up at daybreak on gameday.
Anyone else tried to pitch a tent in the parking lot? It would come down before 6am.

Same one my parents used to play bridge on.
Best part was we'd go up to my grandparents house in Anderson on Friday night and spend the night there. They lived out near the Anderson airport. We'd cross the lake and take the back way in to the stadium through the research park, back when NO ONE WENT THAT WAY. Usually about 20 minutes to the parking space from grandparents house, no matter the traffic. I remember always listening to Leonard's Losers and then there was always an appearance of Strong Thermos as we drove in listening to the tailgate show. Grandfather always sat by himself as he had two seats on the 50 yardline, halfway up. He donated $100 a year for those seats, and was a charter IPTAY member, and former faculty member, so he had those seats since the stadium was built.
My mom is in the black and white picture btw......

usually take a chain and padlock, lock it to my trailer hitch or around a tree(along with trailer basket, and cooler has a metal plate to lock so do that too). load it up after game.

But I typically just toss mine after one use. After the wear and tear of sitting out in the sun all day and dealing with my drunken montra... I just don't feel good vibes around keeping the tent, the portable grill, the tables, the chairs... any of it. Its cheap enough to head on out and just grab new stuff for next weekend.
