can’t remember when - just eased through knee high weeds that turned into waist deep weeds & climbed into a deer stand to wait on hogs- passed 3 wallows - now slapping mosquitoes until Thermacell kicks in

If there's a plot of land big enough to shoot a gun in SC, it has hogs on it.

Not mine. Coyotes, deer, turkey, rabbits, doves, etc. but no hogs. Yet.

I am not sure when I will be going back- too hot and all those weeds need bush hogging- kept thinking I would step on a snake

Saw nothing and couldn’t hear a thing moving because of a million katydids & crickets & maybe a tree frog or two. There is one stand where I might have seen some but way to scary to be walking out close to midnight

I know a guy that got basically pinned down by a sow with piglets before daylight one morning on the way to his stand. Every time he tried to move she would block the path and act like she was going to charge. It was too dark to get a shot so he just sat and waited for the light to come up then he shot her. Then he comes walking out of the woods and right up under my stand about 30 minutes after daylight. Went to his truck and got his 4 wheeler and drove it back down there to get the pig. Pretty much messed up my day too. That place got so overrun with pigs I quit hunting there. Too bad because 4-5 years before that it was some good deer hunting land.
