no test drive.
1) Yay?
2) Nay?
3) Holy Shid, you would have to be an idiot?
Clarification: Have driven the same make/model/year so know what to expect.

Just send the money to the guy, Western Union, and let him deliver it to you.
Shouldn't be a problem.

If Carvana, you get a 7 day test period to return the car.

If you're buying a U S E D car sight unseen, you're about to get FBCoachSC®-screwed.

Bought an Avalon that rattled, then a Jetta that smelled like weed, then settled on a Mazda 6 that is great. Carvana is fantastic.

Would definitely do again, except I haven't seen any prices that make me want to jump on vehicles I'm looking for at the moment. When I bought the Mazda, they were considerably cheaper than anywhere else I found the model I was looking for. Now, they seem to be middle of the pack on prices, but some people want zero hassle with car buying so it's still a viable platform. I'm in no hurry, so I can wait out finding what I want at the price I want for now.

wait for it to show up in the driveway at your house on a car hauler. If you don't like it, call them and send it back and repeat until you get one that suits you. It was really easy.

How would this be different than the newspaper classified ads?

Same kind of concerns there, right? If you do your due diligence, you should be OK. The "Don't be dumb." philosophy may apply nicely here.
And don't agree to meet the guy for the purchase in the back alley of the liquor store.
