I have to give Spurrier some credit
Aug 9, 2012, 2:49 PM
|
|
I have never seen anyone hop up on a donkey for 7 years and convince everyone it is really a pure bread show pony. I mean talk about suspending disbelief, Spurrier has taken that crusty sock at the foot of the bed and turned it into a silk handkerchief. What used to be the hole drilled into the wall at the highway truck stop is now a beautiful, steady woman. Mac and cheese has been turned to prime rib.
My only question is when they get beaten like a drum by UGA, LSU, Arky, Clemson and UF, will that crusty, hole in the wall jackarss of a program return to status quo, or do we have to wait for spurrier to retire before that happens?

I agree with what you've said but...

I say this year they definately lose to LSU, GA and CU. The question is how will they fare vs. ARK, MO,UF, UT? I say they lose one. They finish 8-4 and win bowl. 9-4 ranked 19
next year they lose 7 def starters or more. They will also lose Lattimore.
They will fall back to 7 or 8 wins and the pony show is over or should i say, Donkey show?
See Stevie not so Wonder!

Yea I remember him saying how he would have the most wins of any previous coach when he leaves. I thought then that is nothing great considering the number of coaches they had went through over the past years and the fact they had only a couple of decent years in history. Like saying you are going out and beat a blind man in boxing.

And clemson will lose 8 starters off this year's team and Hopkins will go pro.
You guys always act like Carolina is the only team that loses players. Carolina recuits, too. And Carolina recruits well. Go back and look at recruiting rankings over the 2009-2013 period. Carolina and clemson have never been more than 10 spots separated. As Consumer Reports says, a difference of 10 spots or less in rankings is insignificant. We have depth too.

That's hilarious, considering 'his arrogance' has freaking owned Clemson for the past 2 or 3 years. But it is a shame Auburn won't get another chance to smack the old ball coach around again in the regular season. Yall best be worrying about those War Eagles, cause ol' Dabo's undefeated virginity will be gone by Labor Day, 2012. Bank on it!

We had his a$$ on the ropes in 2009 and let him off. THEY were sick of him then and now he is their god. He was as good as gone. Our own fault.
