Can there be different conference alignments SEPARATELY for Football and Basketball?

Clemson could be in SEC for FB and the Sun Belt for BB ??

football programs and break them into conferences. Then leave all other sports in their current conferences.

yes, there are a handful of schools that are split across different conferences for Bball and football, Hawaii is the only one off the top of my head.

I believe West Virginia is as well. They play like sunbelt or American for soccer i think
