LIV tour guys worse than any football transfer ever

People say Kelly Bryant quit on the team, Lyn J had an ego problem, Ajou was immature. Most of the time when a recognizable name who gets playing time transfers out, there's some ill will among fans. Not saying it's right or wrong, but bottom line, as fans we don't like to see the guys we root for suddenly bail.
Here's the thing, though. The players get a ton of perks and a free education, and it's super valuable, but they aren't getting outright paid seven figures to play (most of them anyway), and they're looking for what they think is the best opportunity there is to play the game and find a way to professional football.
I've been thinking about these dudes who are jumping to the LIV tour, the ones in their prime or late prime. Guys like DJ, Dechambeau, and Reed. They're basically saying they're willing to give up the right to play in PGA events, majors, and Ryder/President Cups, and to lose their endorsement deals for a pot of Saudi money. They're going to play in events that nobody watches, don't count toward official world rankings and are 54 holes with no cut. They're quitting golf. They're taking the money and quitting. Guys who could be earning their way into the Hall of Fame. And they tell the media that they're "growing the game."
Man, say what you want about Kelly Bryant and all these college kids who transfer. But these prima donnas going over to the LIV tour are grown up little baby girl poop panties wearing princess lady men.

The LIV is a work in progress that may or may not succeed. Many of the 48 playing this week are over the hill, unknown or just starting out and were brainwashed with $ signs. As far as transfers go, many fit the, I know I can be a star, put me in center field model. The vast majority of portal transfers are legends in their own minds and almost none of them will ever see an NFL camp as a player.

If someone else taking much more advantage of it and financially benefitting. One of the least important things in this whole thing is what you think about it.

what i think and what other golf fans think. That will likely factor into what happens in the pga v liv battle in the years to come. Kinda like how we are seeing in college football, viewership matters.
I’m not jealous of what these guys are making either. I dislike that they are devaluing the game of golf and thumbing their noses at everyone as they walk out the door (see comments by sergio garcia to other players as an example). It’s no coincidence that the guys going are the least liked players on tour.
My point is that the college kids that some of us are quick to criticize have way more at stake. Clemson isn’t necessarily making them multi multi millionaires. Capitalism is great, but what these guys are doing is slimy at best.

The PGA without a dominant group of players

is just boring. Golf thrives when players people actually care about win. I've followed golf my whole life and when is see no one I care to watch on the leaderboard, why watch? It's like watching a bunch of Ken dolls.
Arnie played of Jack played off Trevino played off Player played off Watson played off Norman played off Faldo played off Tiger played off Mickelson, etc.

The golf guys are professional athletes making a living. Kelly Bryant, Lyn-J etc. are in college.
If you go to work for ABC company that is home based out of Russia, yet has a manufacturing facility in South Carolina, are you seen as less of person morally because your working and drawing a paycheck from a company based out of a communist country.
I get we live in a time where words or language can be changed to fit a narrative, however college athletes and or college students are supposed to be getting a education so they can one day make good money. Do you think someone attending Clemson as a education major should be paid 100k a year while in college. That student will more than likely contribute more than a lot of college football players will one day to society, so why pay someone tuition and give them a salary just because they are athletic.
It’s simply amazing that somehow in the 50’s, 60’s , 70’s 80’s and 90’s, football players survived and didn’t starve to death under such harsh treatment. They just didn’t realize how bad they had it

College football players w/o NIL, w/o the stipend were/are treated like KINGS on campus and throughout the town/city where the school is based. The entire 85 man roster, to varying degrees of course, is subject to this "VIP" treatment on a daily basis.

the point where I don't care what people do. As long as you don't infringe on me or my family.
For example, Phil Mickelson joins the Russian Army and becomes a KGB agent here in America. That possible could be a problem with my family. And then I'd have to posture my defenses around my compound.
But if he joins another "golf league", bless his heart. IT IS GOLF!
My problem is with who this golf league is tied to -- THE SAUDIS. There is so much evidence that the Saudis were behind 9/11, it's scary.
But, it's been almost 21 years since 9/11. Where were Americans thoughts of the Japanese after 21 years of Pearl harbor? Was there still a grudge? IDK, I wasn't alive.
Getting back to my point, none of them infringe on me and I hope they can sleep well at night with their choices. And it's not only golfers, but politicians as well (but that's for another rant).
I think your post was about the transfer portal & the LIV. I hope I didn't hijack your post. All-in-all it's...
Go Tigers AND stay well Tiger Nation!

Glad these guys’ decisions don’t really affect my life, because they are very poor. Fun to talk about on message boards and what not, though.

I know my opinion doesn’t amount to a hill of beans but here goes. I can’t stand the idea of the LIV tournament or NIL or the transfer portal without having to sit out a year, but I can’t change any of these things. I only wish people would realize that change is not always good or progress. Some would tell you the kind of change Trump brought was bad (not me), but others will tell you the green new deal and electric cars and Joe Biden kind of change is good, again (not me). Sorry not meant to be political rather about change in our Sports World and how I wish we could leave well enough alone. We can never be happy with what we have and we always have to have more so we need to make “changes” to have more.

As a former PGA member, I can say this; The PGA needs to not be so greedy, and the United States does business with the Saudi's every day, why do you think LYIN'BIDEN keeps asking THEM to produce more oil? I"m for these guys making all the money they can!!

All good points by everyone posting. One thing people forget is the college kids under the old rules could transfer. They had to sit out a year. The rule was put in place so we don't have the mess we are dealing with now.

I have no problem with it, the PGA has no "great record" on human rights.

Please inform us of the PGA’s bad record on human rights since I don’t seem to see how they can begin to be compared to Saudi Arabia or most Middle Eastern countries.

They seem like different circumstances altogether. If anything the golf part is grown ### men making decisions for themselves in their profession. They're not ignorant to consequences. On the college side these are still kids growing into men, mostly, and many may just be looking for a better opening to have a shot at playing and shining more before their career wraps.
If anything the LIV to date is filled with personalities that had a tougher time grabbing hold of the PGA crowd's hearts, though most were all respected for their games. Considering it's a PR and networking gig mainly for the Saudi sovereign wealth fund, we'll see how well it holds up.

I was glad to see Kelly Bryant go. If Clemson means nothing to him...I'm a Clemson graduate. Do the math.
