If you look at 24/7 rankings, TJ Moore is only ranked #21. AWBARN has got two

of the Top SEVEN according to them. I know, SEC and all that, but what is the attraction to Awbarn at this particular point in time?

If Dabo is excited, I'm excited. Well, Auburn, see, they have this great Tiger mascot. And then they jave a war eagle too. So double the fun! Or confusion? Who knows? They will portal

Sadly , because of total resources available, even most lower tier SEC and Big 10 teams can out recruit us because they have a fatter wallet. It ain’t like it used to be. It’ll get worse from here.🥲

You may prove to be right, but I've not seen enough evidence of doom and gloom to think the sky is falling in a manner we cannot control.

A&M and FSU and others have attempted to use the portal and NIL to purchase championships and its not worked so well. We still have currency which, if we manage it well, should see us doing okay.

I watched his highlights for the game. Very impressive. Looks better than anybody we have. Hope it translates to college football.

These 2 guys are the only reason Gris still has a job, guaranteed. He would've got the pink slip and pat on the back like Austin and Hall got if not for these 2 being committed. Can't wait to see what they can do though. Go Tigers

Duh … where ya been?

Hardly any CFB non-coordinator assistant coach keeps their job unless they are successful recruiters.

Teach them the plays and put Moore & Wesco in the rotation

The Clemson coaches can teach them the playbook - they can't coach speed, separation and good hands. So many WR skill sets are genetic, and some like work ethic are often learned from parents and pre-college coaches.

Antonio Williams in 2022 and Brown in 2023 both were our top receivers as true freshmen arriving in the summer.

Maybe someone can pay for them their own personal coaches so Grisham does put his stank on them.

What a ridiculous comment. Do you honestly believe that you're born with good hands and ability to separate and can't develop those skills. Or all college does is teach the play book? You have never played a sport.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You can learn those skills, but it takes time

… sometimes many years to get it to the point where you just do it without having to think about it. That’s when you can perform at a high level.

There’s timing for the jump, separation, concentration, and high pointing and catching the ball. You can’t learn all that and perform it all at a high level in a couple of years in college.

Mike, Sammy, Mike, Ross, and Tee all had those skills when they arrived at Clemson. Then all they had to learn was the playbook.

True to an extent, but the speed with one can refine his athletic skills are influenced by genetics.

Let’s focus on spatial understanding. There are people who are highly capable from the cognitive aspect (as measured by standardized test scores) and who also possess selected natural athletic attributes (such as speed), yet those same people have poor ability to look at a container of one shape and recognize whether the contents in a container of another shape can fit into the first container.

With judging the multiple variables of catching a ball, some people are inherently able to triangulate the trajectory of the ball, the speed of the ball, and his own distance from the ball and then endeavor to move himself to the place where the ball will land. This skill is not possessed uniformly throughout the population. Furthermore, there is a wide variance among the population with respect to eye-hand coordination. Among the small group which have quick hands, there is a more limited subset that has ‘soft’ enough hands to be coordinated enough to catch a ball.

For WR prospects who possess some great natural attributes such as speed, change of direction, and jumping ability, but only OK ball skills, they can sometimes improve their ball skills enough in college to become great players by the time that they leave college. Deon Cain comes to mind.

For WR prospects who have a very good, but not great, comprehensive skill set, sometimes they can improve enough on all of their skills via hard work and become great players by the time that they leave college. Hunter Renfrow comes to mind.

Then, there are players who have all the skills as of Day 1, such as D.Hopkins, S.Watkins, T.Higgins, and J.Ross.

Finally, there are players who are good in several aspects, work hard, but will never be great. Beaux Collins comes to mind.

The WR room is going to be interesting this year! If they stay healthy, we should see some improvement in scoring and general productivity. (Provided the OL improves.) Go Tigers!

is worlds better than he and wesco in the fall is going to be fun to listen to..if he and wesco pick up the play book fast we will be fine. if they are forced to ride the pine while our trash wrs are on the field stinking it up it will be more of the same clunky offense.

Makes me think of Watkins and Peake. Peake was the more highly ranked (at least by some), but it was Sammy who awed everyone. I think Moore and Wesco could perhaps be a similar duo.
