What road trips have you made to see Clemson play on the road?

For me so far: Duke, Florida State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pitt, and Wake Forest. Except for some of the outcomes, all were good trips.

Your Clemson road trips? Good trips? Bad trips?

UGA - Worst fans ever
TAMU - Great fans, very hospitable.
USuC - You can figure that one out.
UNC - Meh
NC State - Worst fans in ACC.
FSU - great trip, fans are mostly respectable.
Miami - great trip, fans are mostly not there.
Maryland - obnoxious group
Wake - it's a mostly Clemson crowd when we play there.
UK - Similar to USuC fans.

FSU - 2006 (Great win at the end) and 2014 (from the Nike Suite... So close, should have won it).

Ga Dome - 2012 Auburn - Brent Veneables first game as DC.

Ga Dome - 2012, LSU - What a great game and finish!!

GT - '09,'11,'16,'18. 2010 was painful b/c we couldn't finish the comeback. '16 & '18 made up for it.

Wake - 2022 - Crazy game back and forth. DJ's best game, maybe ever. Defense was bad that day.

Duke - 2023 - I don't want to talk about it. Ever.

I won't even bother listing all of the bowl and CFP games.

against the Nerds in 1975, which happened to be the infamous "fumble, kick it ahead into the end zone, and then fall on it for a touchdown" play that beat us 33-28. And, to end the year, I was in attendance at the worst ever Clemson vs Coot game in Cootlumbia, the 56-20 debacle at the hands of Jeff Grantz and the Veer offense the Coots ran to perfection that day. That was enough to permanently sour me on road trips.

Regular Season:
Winston Salem (Wake Forest)
Raleigh (NCSU)
Durham (Duke)
Atlanta (Georgia Tech)
College Park (Maryland)
Tuscaloosa (Alabama) - we lost 56-0, but I was a kid at the time; it didn't really affect me.
Auburn (Auburn) - one of the hottest and most aggravating game. K. Parker was speared in the back by N. Farley. We should have won that game.
Athens (Georgia)
Columbia (SCar) - never been when we lost, so these were good trips

Post/Bowl Season:
Tampa
Atlanta (multiple times)
Miami - the worst trip due to outcome
Jacksonville

Honestly, all good experiences. VT and FSU had great energy (VT was better at the time). Wake and Duke were more relaxed and I could be closer to the field...cheap and approachable. I went with NCSU friends to the NCSU game and had a fine time (the students were a bit of a mess, though. :) ). And USC...well...not a lot of love but you would almost be disappointed if there was. :)

Lots of easily accessible road trips has always been one of my favorite things about the ACC.

UNC (L 1995), Wake (W 2006), UGA (two Ls in 1991 and 1994), GT (doesn't really count as I live here) (five Ws and eight Ls), NC State (one W and one L 2001 and 2003), Miami (2 Ws 2004 and 2009), and Auburn (L 2010).

I thought the Auburn fanbase was the friendliest. The UNC tailgating scene was the lamest. Georgia was well you know... Georgia. My lone Wake game was the most thrilling (the Gaines Adams blocked FG return).

Surprised in my 51 years on earth that I have yet to visit SC, FSU, and Duke.

fans are completely obnoxiuos fools. Va Tech is Beautiful, Wake was mostly clemson
fans, as was Georgia Tech. I have been to several Peach bowls, Citrus Bowls, anf Gator
Bowls, and enjoyed them a lot. Road trips are fun, but enjoyed tail gating in parking
lot 5 at home games the most

When I was a kid I went to every away ACC venue in the mid to late 70’s thru the early 80’s. I was at every home and away game the year we won the 1st national championship including Tulane in the dome and at Boston College. I always liked our trips to Charlottesville. Not much of a game usually but the campus and surrounding area is beautiful.
My disdain for UGA began back in those days and continues today. They SUCK. The worst ever with the cawks right behind them on my sh^% list.

More recently we’ve been to Louisville, Syracuse, Pitt, Texas A&M, Miami, FSU, GA Tech, Wake, NC state, Va Tech, Glendale and Tampa national championship games. I know it’s unbelievable considering the reputation of the Texas A&M fans but the Louisville fans were even friendlier the year we went up there 😳 . They were going out of their way to come and speak to us!!!!

Most memorably was when I was younger n high school and a large group of families took an amtrak from Charlotte to Maryland. This was right after 911. Me and a buddy went to see the damage at the pentagon but no pictures were aloud. Marylands fans were terrible but Clemson won. Also bought a fake ID in Georgetown. Good times

The first college game I can remember attending was not a Clemson game. It was Wake Forest at SC. My Boy Scout troop attended. Brian Piccolo played for WF & Dan Reeves for the Gamecocks. I remember them carrying Reeves off the field in a skin cast walking right by me at the end of the game.

I still want to go to Louisville and BC while we are still in the ACC…and Notre Dame. No interest in visiting Chapel Hole, Durham, Raleigh, Atlanta, Charlottesville, or Miami…been to those places, but not for a football game. Also minimal interest in Pitt or Syracuse…never been, never care to. Guess you could add Dallas and San Fran to the list of places I’ve been to that I don’t need to revisit for a football game.

Worst fans for me (after SCAR) were FSU; dishonorable mention to UGA and VT
Best fans were Auburn

Many campuses I would love to visit in other conferences, so I’ll watch the realignment carousel turn…
