Yep. He was throwing off speed soft stuff. Pitches you cannot generate enough power off of to hit out. Backich screwed this game. He has managed well, but he owns this loss. I expect him to say so in presser

I think if we didn't try to steal 3rd in the 7th when we were up 2 with one out and the heart of the order up, we would have won. I also think we would have won if Hughes came in instead of Ammons. I also believe having bases loaded with no outs in the 10th and not scoring is inexcusable.

Our odds of winning would have been much higher with leaving Grice out there not to mention taking Amick out the game at the same time than putting Ammons out there and sitting Amick on the bench……our odds of winning definitely went way down with those two coaching decisions!
