Why is Quickbooks Online so popular?

The user interface may be one of the worst I've seen in a while and I consult on UI/UX for a living.

Getting popped in the face with upsells and ads on every screen (this is a PAID PLAN) is also cringe.

I'm trying out ZipBooks and there's none of that garbage. Does the same stuff but the interface is actually usable.

I'm assuming those of you who are on Quickbooks Online are doing so for backwards compatibility with old desktop versions? What gives? What am I missing?

I made the jump last year from Excel Spreadsheets and am trying to settle on a solution so I don't wind up having to manually regenerate records and such.

Thoughts?

(the base price WAS $0.00/mo when we started using it, you only paid for payroll and payment processing. They've since upped the base price to $20/mo (still cheaper than the lowest QB tier), and $6/per person paid / per month

was a startup back in about 2011-12 timeframe. Had no idea they've grown like this. Gonna give it a shot. ZipBooks is working well but I'm all about optimizing my time via software.

night...i have NOTHING to compare it to, as I've never used QB....but it was pretty chill and easy to set up and use
