because they didnt think they were the greatest generation.

In fact, those members of my family who were of that generation tended not to think of themselves much at all. A very selfless group, prolly cause a lot of them grew up hungry and knew theyd starve if they waited around for a handup or handout.

We of the following generations have enjoyed the groundwork they laid. And it's why we're a nation of cloistered, wealthy, soft, spoiled, entitled individualists, in the main.

Their greatness has been our undoing.

Generation because it was the last to believe in accountability , responsibility, and self reliance.

and be better off than they were. The actual Greatest Generation is probably the last one to actually accomplish that goal.

I think the generation that founded the colonies, and then their kids and grandkids who formed the United States, were thinking of better things for their descendants.

But in this age, I do think you're correct.
