The more I think about it the more I like the idea of moving

Jul 8, 2022, 2:32 PM

away from the ACC. The last few years have almost been boring until we get to the post-season. We've had some good games against Syracuse and NC State, and further back, against FSU, but the ACC just has not been much of a challenge and many of the games have honestly been pretty boring. Switching to a different conference would almost make every game like a bowl game (for a while, anyway) in that it would be an opponent we rarely if ever have played. I'd miss having that history with the ACC, but it's usually pretty hard to get excited about a conference game the last several years. I hate the idea of the "super conferences" and the way that college football is evolving, but nothing I can do about it, so might as well sit back and enjoy whatever changes may be in store!

I think we broke the ACC.

agreed, only games I'm really looking forward to are the ND

game and the SCAR game, the rest are outright boring, with zero national relevance. I like gameday type games, games against SCAR or games that have national significance. If ND and Clemson are undefeated, that may be a gameday game.

Winning big is better than losing little.

I have thought after seeing so many of the top elite players reject Clemson only bc they have been brain washed that the best way to the NFL was through playing in the SEC, yes they were influenced by the SEC hype that is constantly preached by every ESECPN employee that SEC players was made of all the best stuff for FB, and they're young minds believe it. If Clemson was in the SEC, Dabo and coaches would have it easy bringing in the brain washed players that would only commit to an SEC school, and that for me says that Clemson could/would be better than we've been these past 10 years bc of who Clemson is, plus being affiliated with the SEC fantasy of being bigger, faster, stronger SEC type players!!!

Because of Dabo being who he is, and his demand that his players get educated, our graduation percentage wouldn't be hurt that much, if any, and I think that our championship averages would rise bc the best of the best could play in their SEC dream conference, at Clemson!!! Just think about having as many 5 star players as Bama, or Georgia, on the roster at Clemson year in, year out!!!

I see you have had your head buried in the sand. Want to check how many players the SEC has put in the NFL? Uh huh.....number one year in and year out. That's facts not propaganda. They are bigger, stronger and faster as a whole ..... that's why NFL teams look to the SEC first and foremost. Attendance, TV viewership, money spent on the arms race (facilities) and fan fervor is second to none.

The league is not so weak you only have one big game to win because all the others are pushovers. If our team doesn't land a top recruit then we hope they sign with another SEC team. This builds a stronger conference and raises the water level that raises all boats. Yes, an SEC schedule is a grind. Even so-so teams will wear on you over the course of the year. One must have team depth, and lots of it, to succeed.

I hope you get to fall in with us. You would be a worthy addition and, I'm sure, you would have an explosion of Tiger fan interest like not seen before. Come on over to the top conference. On a side note have you seen what it has done for A&M? Take a look at their facilities before joining and what they are now. It is an arms race and I am sure the extra money and fan interest would be unbelievable.

Agree 100%. A&M is a prime example of the wealth and talent that come with being an SEC member. Their new facilities are so nice, they opted out of their bowl game last year so they could stay in College Station and decorate them. I for one would embrace the grind of the SEC. Imagine the excitement all week knowing that Vandy is coming to town on Saturday!

You are right.

1. Texas A&M
2. U. Texas (t.u.) 1 & 2 with Athletic budgets
3. Ohio State
4. Michigan
5. Alabama
6. Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Penn State, Auburn.....

Gamecocks, FSU and Louisville make the top 25, Clemson does not.
All the big SEC schools (Arkansas, Kentucky,,,) are in the top 25.

Eventually, we will not be able to compete with the top tier across the board after the year with the difference growing annually....

We pretty much have to leave the ACC at this point
