I’m getting pretty tired of Hall too at this point.
A supposedly dominant big guy getting two points in a half is pitiful, and I’m really starting to suspect the kid is soft. Especially this love affair with being a eurotrash three point specialist. Dude cannot reliably and consistently back someone down in the paint for a basket when we need it, and he gets flat out bullied by the league's big men on defense. If it weren’t for Schieff I suspect our rebounding stats would be abysmal as well, because he doesn’t seem to pull that many down.
I would have loved to see Cliff Ellis coaching this kid.

I horse-laughed everyone that thought he was going to the NBA last year.

And I'll horse-laugh anyone that thinks he'll go to the NBA this year. I hope he took some foreign languages while at Clemson because his professional fortunes do not lie inside the boundaries of the United States of America. He can most assuredly play pro ball somewhere, he just won't be going home on weekends.

I agree but I'd guess the euro leagues expect even more 3 point shooting from their bigs than the NBA does.
A power forward at the next level who can't hit 3 point shots is kind of suspect.

eurotrash, he has to get ready for the next level. I really should have driven back up to NC Saturday, to place a bet against the Brown-L boys. Found it odd I couldn't place one Friday night.

I'd trade him for Tom Wideman, Ray Henderson, or Chris Hobbs any day.***

PJ is far more talented than Tom.

Tom is far more useful as a big man since he isn’t allergic to staying in the paint.

Come on. PJ scores in bunches inside. I just wish

he'd do it a little more.
Heck of a shot blocker also.
Wideman's greatest attribute was setting a heckuva pick.
PJ was just named first team All-ACC. Wideman never sniffed even one vote.

Lemme see PJ against Tim Duncan and Antawn Jamison and let’s see how that award goes.

a game. PJ is better on offense, defense, as a passer, in every way.
Wideman was slow as heck. No way he guarded Jamison. Pretty sure he guarded Brendan Haywood on those UNC teams.
Duncan? PJ could hang with him any day better than Wideman. I don't remember Wideman ever blocking a shot.
BTW, this is your best one yet.

I already said PJ was the more talented player.
You then set about arguing that PJ was more talented (which I’d already conceded) by saying the proof was him winning first team All ACC and Wideman not winning it.
I pointed out the folly of that argument by pointing out that PJ wouldn’t have won either if he’d played in the mid-late 90’s ACC.

That he's not as good as some of the best to ever play the position?
It's hard to follow your sports threads!
But seriously, he scores inside a lot. To say he can't play inside is not really defensible. He's got an incredibly fast drop step and a very good short hook shot. He is very difficult to defend in the low post, even when pushed off the block.
He's also gotten a lot better on def throughout his career.
He's very good and deserving of the all ACC honor.
Wonder what his stat line would look like if his minutes weren't being limited the last half of the season.

He also can play facing the basket or back to the basket.

Wideman could do neither. He wasn't an offensive threat at all.
He was great at blocking out and mixing it up inside.
