Which resume below would indicate the best/worst coaching? These numbers are from 2014 - present. It will make sense why once the teams are revealed.
SRS stands for Simple Rating System: a rating system that takes into account point differential and SOS. For example, we had a 10.53 SRS last year and BC had a 1.09 SRS.
Team 1: average ACC finish - 6.5 Teams beaten with an SRS over 12 - 38 Teams lost to with under 2 SRS: 6 Number of 4* recruits or better - 20
Team 2: Average ACC finish - 7.2 Teams beaten with an SRS over 12 - 43 Teams lost to with under a 2 SRS - 10 Number of 4* recruits or better - 6
Team 3: average ACC finish - 7.3 Teams beaten with an SRS over 12 - 45 Teams lost to with under a 2 SRS - 9 Number of 4* recruits or better - 26

Yes, that was apparent. And you cherry picked a narrow time window and specific teams and used a stat that the NCAA tourney doesn’t use to try and make your point. You told me I was wrong that he loses more bad games than most coaches. I put the entirety of his tenure using NCAA database information. I could have been wrong. But he did, in fact, more Q3&Q4 losses than the conference average and dramatically more than the teams in the middle third of the conference. The only schools he was comparable to were those with an average finish in the bottom third of the conference over his tenure. He averages 7th ( rounded ). He is miserable at making the NCAA tournament. My info explains why, as I have been explaining for years, he is so bad at making the tournament. Why it was entirely predictable he wouldn’t make it last year. Your info, at best, says “hey, this guy is pretty decent for a guy that makes the NCAA tourney less than 25% of the time!”

You literally said that louisville and syracuse were the 2 teams that were most comparable to clemson's average finish so that is why i used them. It only made sense to use the season they joined the ACC to compare. Even somebody like you can admit that finishing 7th in a league with 12 teams is different than finishing 7th with 15 teams, right? I even showed you VT's numbers and guess what? They were extremely comparable as well.
What your data showed is that when we are in the bottom half of the league, we are more susceptible to losing to bad teams. Mind blowing.
Here are the seasons that we lost to teams with less than a 2 SRS. As you can see, last year was an outlier. Other than last year, we have only lost to poor teams in seasons where we have been bad. And we are very comparable to teams like louisville, syracuse, and VT.
2011 - 7th out of 12
2012 - 11th out of 12
2014 - 10 out of 15
2015 - 8 out of 15
2022 - 4 out of 15

He’s trying to counter the stats I pulled directly from the NCAA team sheets to the entirety of Brad’s tenure. I went to the trouble because he challenged me that I was incorrect that Brad loses to “bad” teams more than other coaches. I proved definitively that, at least by the metrics the NCAA uses, he does. Now he’s found a different metric that tells the story he wants that is cherry picked for a short period of time and thinks it somehow conunteracts my original assertion. 3 tournaments in 13 years. Our last two recruiting classes WITH TRANSFERS are ranked at the bottom of the ACC per 247 sports.

I have always used SRS. SRS is a very reliable metric that and it tells the complete story. the 5 teams with under a 2 SRS were truly our bad losses last year. The teams with above a 12 SRS were all NCAA tourney teams last year.
Teams with under a 2 SRS that we lost to last year.
Morehead state
Louisville
Loyola
South carolina
BC

That’s fine and I do think sports reference is a very useful website. But the info you’re providing doesn’t negate my point. And it also doesn’t tell a good story for Brad. Here’s the rolling average of his SRS starting in year 5:

The 7 seasons prior to facility upgrades: average SRS - 10.14 Lowest SRS - 5.85 Highest SRS: 13.76z
Last 6 seasons since the upgrade: average SRS: 12.31 Lowest SRS: 9.58 Highest SRS: 17.16
We have definitely improved since facility upgrades.and this year should be our best year!

Explain why he hasn’t been let go yet? Did you see a promising future against More Head? That’s what Brad does and what he’s always done, save one year where Gabe Devoe and the guards got hot, with no impact from coaching.

You know what this means, as you have spent time on the sports reference site. You are choosing not to respond intelligently because it proves you wrong. You stated in another thread that we lose to bad teams at a way higher rate than these 2 and thats simply not true. What these numbers actually show is that brownell compares very well to the other 2 teams despite not recruiting at the same level.

It literally does not. It proves you found something that you view as positive. My info proves why he is so bad at making the tourney - which is because he loses more bad losses than his peers. As viewed by the NCAA selection committee. I put in the work when you said it wasn’t true. Your data may give you the feels but it has nothing to do with how/why we do/don’t make the tourney.

I understand 3 NCAA Tourney's in 14 seasons. The rest of the statistics don't matter to me. Hoping we can improve on our ratio of Big Dance appearances in the Brownell era this season.
