Rig, with a 3/4 ounce barrel shaped weight on it....Nailed my partner in the back of the head with it on a cast. I don't know how fast a 7 and a half foot rod can make that weight go...but I distinctly remember the sound it made when it hit him in the back of his head. Thank goodness it was in the winter and he had a heavy hood on......

I've been hit with rods, lures, paddles, and all manner of limbs, etc. Fishing is a contact sport, for sure.
