We have played one of the top ranked schedules in the country (18th out if 362 per sports reference)
We have only lost to quad 1 teams and most of them have been on the road, which anyone with a clue knows that it is tough to win on the road especially quad 1 games. There are only 11 teams in the top 50 of NET that have played over 7 quad 1 games, and we are one of them.
Out if these 11 teams, we have played the most away quad 1 games at 5. The win percentage for away quad 1 games not including us is 38% so we are slighly ahead of the curve in that regard. The only team that has a winning record in away quad 1 games ins UNC at 3-0.
The teams with 7 or more quad 1 games are below:
Arizona - 5-3 record. 2 home wins, 2 neutral, and 1 away
Purdue - 6-2 quad 1 record. 1 home win, 5 neutral, and no away wins
Alabama - 2-5 quad 1 record. 1 home win and 1 away
UNC - 5-3 quad 1 record. 1 home win, and 3 away wins
Wisconsin: 4-3 quad 1 record. 1 home win, 2 neutral, and 2 away
Kansas: 5-2 quad 1 record. 3 home wins, 2 neutral, 0 away
Marquette 3-4 quad 1 record. 1 home win, 1 neutral, snd 1 away
Michigan st: 2-6 quad 1 record. 1 home win, 1 neutral, and 0 away
Clemson: 3-4 quad 1 record. 0 home wins, 1 neutral, and 2 away
Texas A&M: 4-4 quad 1 record. 1 home, 1 neutral, and 2 away
Xavier: 2-5 quad 1 record. 0 home wins, 1 neutral, and 1 away

It's almost impossible not to. Though we're no longer ranked, I can't imagine practically every sportswriter and analyst out there misjudging this team's potential considering what we've accomplished at the midway point.

And here is the remaining schedule as of Jan 14 2024:
As of today, 12-4 record (2-3 ACC Conf):
we are 3-4 in Quad 1 games and only have 3 Quad 1 Games left... all on the road (Duke, UNC and Wake). Probably will go 1-2 in those games. So finish 4-6 in Quad1 games with a schedule that featured only 1 home game vs Q1 team, 1 neutral game vs Q1 team, and 8 road games vs Q1 teams.

Hard to say this, but hopefully scar continues to win so they end up a quad 1 win. Boise could end up being quad 1 if they continue to win.

I was wondering the same. Conference play is always 2-3 days per game with some rare weeks where a team might play once a week before things really get going.

Gonna need Clark and Hemmenway back for some depth. Also, Chase has to show up. Need another 3 threat at guard so Girard doesn’t have to run himself into the ground. And play freaking zone to save legs. We’re giving up 3s playing man, so let’s just accept it. Likely less wide ### open 3s in zone than our current man D.

Mountaineer, what excuse will you use when FSU crushes our team on Sat, worse than VaTech.
Did you know that we lost to GaTech, poor team, at HOME. They certainly are not in the upper echelon this year. I think we were a 10.5 point favorite and that's huge in basketball.
But our coach doesn't like to foul when leading by 3 and time is running out???
Please explain that...
