We would be a 3-seed based on current rankings. The top 4 are the highest ranked conf champs and get a bye.

1 - Georgia
2 - Ohio St
3 - Clemson
4 - TCU

In 20 years if the CFP is expanded to 32 teams, the coots will still be out.

but I guarantee a true 12 team playoff, you wouldn't get Tulane in at a 12 seed. Really need a 15 team playoff. All power 5 division champs get in and group of 5 conference champs get in. #1 seed gets a first round bye. Power 5 conference championships won't even matter anymore except for seeding, so a conference can decide for themselves if they want to have a game or give the title to the "paper champion" like we used to do.

Around the same time the conference championship games go away. They didn't really think this through.

4 pods each and they play a round within each pod during the regular season. The conference could have quarter finals of the 4 winners of the pods then semi finals the the CCG's would be Playoff seeds.

Rid the world of opinions influencing the participants.

After it graduates from 4 it should go to 8 so...

no team has a bye week. That's unfair to all outside the top four and I suspect we'll seldom see a bye week.

I'd rather them take it to 16 now than see it become a number which gives byes. I'm happy with 4 too.
