If Brad does not make the Big tournament this

year, do you think he will make it next year? I say move on from Brad if he does not make the big tournament as you can’t expect him to make it next year. Two times in 13 years is not enough. Monte Lee was let go for a whole lot less than this. If we don’t make a move then we don’t care anything about Mens BB and should abandon the sport.

Too many if's right now. The game Saturday is huge because if we win, we get a double bye and will have bettered our all time ACC record for wins by either 2 or 3.

The game Saturday is at home against 2-16 Notre Dame

If we lose that game, I don't see how he can be retained. The only thing that could save him at that point would be a run to at least the ACC Tournament Final.

True, but in an absolute sense only. Cliff Ellis's 10-win ACC season in a 14-game campaign was 0.714.
CBB's 14 wins (if we beat ND) would be 0.700 in a 20-game ACC campaign.
So yeah, 14 games is better than 10 games, but 0.714 is better than 0.700.

And the ACC is the worst and it's history. Come on man, just wake up. The only way you believe the stuff you post is if you're getting a paycheck from Brad himself

Hope we win and hope we win the ACC tournament snd pray we will get in the big dance. Would love to see Brad save himself, easier to keep the known than deal with the unknown. HOWEVER, if we don’t make the big dance we need a new coach

Hard to let go of a coach who just set a school record ACC wins for a year. Or what coach would come to a school knowing they just let go of a coach who won over 20 games and finished in the top 4 of the conference. Hard to please people

Pretty sure any coach is going to be turned off by a program

that has made the tournament just 2 times in 13 years moreso than the pure fact they fired a coach after a good but non-NCAA tournament team this year.
That's not a place that seems to care about winning, one way or the other. Most coaches who are really on the rise see it as a risky place, if aspirations are high for them personally.

I don't know. The fact that we would have provided a coach 13 years to wallow in relative mediocrity without much ado seems pretty attractive. Brad hasn't exactly raised the bar here in any way, so the sky remains the limit for the right fit.

Is Brad’s social media manager cutting checks for mentioning his ACC wins total? Remind me again which other Clemson coaches had the benefit of a 20 game schedule? Now remind me which coach had the benefit of an unbalanced schedule and only played the top 4 teams in the conference once? Which Clemson coach had the benefit of a non-conference schedule ranked in the bottom 10% of all college basketball. Which coach had the benefit of playing against the worst ranked ACC in the history of the conference? Brownell would have to be an actually awful coach to have won less games than he has and arguably is awful given that he still managed to lose 4 quad 3/4 games. Further, he claims to not understand what the selection committee wants but, in the NCAA’s own words quad 3/4 losses are “incredibly important”. For $3 million a year you’d think he could read the NCAA’s explanation of NET and tourney selection. But with a fanbase this doltish I guess he figures why bother.

His chances of making the dance are slim IMO, but he will be invited to the NIT, and that will probably give him another season at Clemson 😂☹️

Monte Lee was let go and we're about to find out how well that worked out. Brownell is having the best season ever, and its "Fire Brownell!" Like what is ya'lls deal.

If he can’t make the tournament in his best year ever at year 13, it’s time to move on.
Remember, he took over a team that was consistently in the tournament.

He should be gone either way. It is not simply about this season - you look at the entire body of work and clearly Brad did not move the needle. Nothing in my mind tells me he has suddenly “figured it out” or will somehow improve recruiting or start developing inside game. He had plenty of time. Simply keeping him another year is not changing reality.

We did it in a weak conference with a very weak schedule. Put us in the Big 12 and we are near the bottom.

to get in. So... not sure I ever see us going to the tourney again. We finish top 3 like once in a blue moon.
