Nice car. Not top of the line, but not the bottom either. Dependable. Doesn't really resonate with younger people, but does have a small and dedicated following. You get your money's worth, but you aren't winning any car shows.

and here we are in the family Buick. We'll never get ahead with Brownell. We'll have some good seasons (and we have) and we'll have some big wins (and we have), but I think he's had plenty of time and opportunity to prove that he can't get us over the hump and make us fairly consistently competitive and respectable.
I know you're loyal to our good ol' family Buick, and I respect that, but I'd like to get ahead of the pack, or at least keep up with the leaders, rather than drift along and ultimately watching others fly by, whether warranted or not.

If so, great!
But if not, it’s unfair to expect the Buick to drive like a sports car.

But I personally feel that a program that is supported among the worst in the ACC in terms of financial support and attendance shouldn’t be expected to be better than we have been.
Fifth in the ACC in conference wins since 2017 is a significant accomplishment for a program supported so poorly, yet some of you think we are underachieving. Amazing.

I'd be supportive of paying CBB millions more than we pay him now, but only on a pure incentive basis. How about a $5M bonus for NCAAT Final Four appearance. Maybe a $1M bonus for ACCT championship. $250K for 20+ win season. $250K for NCAAT bid. $100K for ACCT "double-bye". $75K for every ACC regular season win over 10 games (in 20 game season). $50K for each ACC first team player, $20K for each ACC 2nd or 3rd team player. $100K for any national award like Naismith Award.
But there's no way I'd support increasing his baseline salary.

which ranks 6th in the league behind Scheyer, Mac, Bennett, Capel and Boeheim and puts him in the top 25 or 30 nationally and on par with coaches like Shaka Smart, Cuonzo Martin, and Mike Woodson.
Anyone who really thinks we're getting our moneys worth is either blind, deluded or some combination of he two.

That’s how much I care about Clemson basketball.

So you want to take money from the football team's revenues to prop up basketball? You hate the football team and its coach, but you want to suck up some of their money?
What is it exactly that we should be spending money on in the basketball program?

approximated Brad Brownell. Both were prone to breakdowns, and the sheet metal on the newer one was so thin, it actually dented just by being leaned on while filling with gas one time. That one was a Rendezvous, which was Buick's version of the "Breaking Bad" Walter White Pontiac Aztek. Tiger Woods conned me into buying that one, as he was a shill for Buick at the time. This was right before his own many rendezvous became public knowledge. I traded that POS car about as fast as Elin traded Tiger once all his liasons came to light.

More like a Pinto. Gets you from point A to point B pretty well, might even be fun to drive on occasion. But take one little bump and BAM! The whole thing blows up.

Well…. I own a 1971 Buick GS455 (screen name) that sports 7.5 liters of vintage Buick tire shredding torque. Also the suspension has been re-engineered to change the roll centers so it pulls 1.25 lateral G’s. To those of you in Rio Linda, that equates to C8 Corvette cornering ability. Probably would auction over $100k since it is one of 115 Buick made in 1971 with the Muncie factory 4 speed and Hurst shifter. So the real question is can CBB become this Buick?
