If Chad wants to be a head coach....

Nov 17, 2012, 8:52 PM

Why not let him be ours? I really like Dabo and think he's a great guy...but Chad seems like he's going to be the next Chip Kelly. I don't want to let him go after we already missed out on RichRod.

Dabo has invested in us, Morris is great but has invested in himself... I'll keep Dabo! Go Tigers!!!

True but everyone is happy with Dabo because we've got Chad. Without Chad's offense last year, we don't bounce back like we did...and we certainly wouldn't be 10-1 right now....

...is it too late to make Dabo our new AD and make Chad HC?

And if Chad should leave there will be someone out there ready for the chance to prove himself.
And who says Dabo wants to be AD?
Obvisiously you are in the minority!

Then too, just because someone is a great OC/DC

Nov 17, 2012, 9:14 PM [ in reply to Re: If Chad wants to be a head coach ]

does not mean they can handle all the complexities of being HC!

Very true...I just don't want to lose the guy

I agree. I just hope we've got a guy copying down everything Chad says and studying how he thinks so he can step in for him after Chad departs haha

Yeah lets fire a coach who is 10-1

Do you people have brains?

Re: Yeah lets fire a coach who is 10-1

Nov 17, 2012, 9:31 PM

Sure, at least I'd like to think I've got some brains. Here's what that thing between my ears sees: we've had two fantastic years the past two years because of our incredible offense. I think it would be in the best interest of the program to try to keep Chad around for as long as possible.

I understand many wont agree with this thought, but is it really so outlandish?

What are you;some kind of moron?
Just because somebody seems like he is going to be the next Chip Kelly doesn't mean he won't end up like RichRod.Care to share with us where he is now,and what he has done lately?

Re: If Chad wants to be a head coach....

I'm not sure how RichRod necessarily would have worked out badly...he gave WVU 4 conference championships and 2 BCS bowl wins. Not exactly terrible though obviously his time at Michigan was terrible (though I blame that more on the talent pool

Whoops, accidentally clicked send.

Regardless, RichRod was a fantastic coach at WVU even if Michigan was a nightmare.

Overall we don't know what Chad would be like as a head coach, but I think he would be worth the risk.

This is a silly post.

######! I hate posting via iPod!

Anyways, the way he has become "proven" is by hiring the OC whose system is largely responsible for our team's success.

Again, you don't necessarily have to agree with my suggestion but I still don't understand why it seems so crazy to some people here.

As I mentioned before, after RR went to WVU, he won 4 conference championships and 2 BCS bowls. People seem to forget that due to his tenure at Michigan....there's a reason Michigan paid so much for him.

No argument about Michigan, but again, he had a fantastic tenure at WVU right after he left Clemson.
