If so, you probably aren’t that loyal a fan anyway. You’d let your ego and desire to claim your football team is the best get in the way.

Hypothetically speaking… if Clemson were to stay & the conference ends up like the MAC & Clemson starts having to play Tuesday night games in November bc that’s the only TV spot they can get…are you going to proud to be a Clemson fan? I think most will be Clemson fans through thick and thin but if Clemson athletic dept/BOT think staying in a failing conference is good for the brand, they’re fooling themselves. Money is only going to be more important as the years go by…so if you want to compete you’ll have to get paid by being a part of the top conference profit shares.

I have been a Clemson fan since around 1956/7 and will always be Clemson fan regardless of what conference they are in. Never missed a home game until I went into the military and still managed to get to a couple each year except when I wasn’t in the States. GO TIGERS.

I was a Clemson fan when the ACC in 1960 mandated a higher entrance requirement than the SEC and other leagues basically consigning Clemson athletics (football in particular) to second-class citizenship.
I was a Clemson fan when the ACC in a fit of misplaced outrage, added a third year of probation to the already harsh NCAA penalty in 1982.
I’ll be a Clemson fan in the future regardless of whether they join another league or remain where they are.
I want the best for my alma mater, but I will remain steadfast in my loyalty regardless of what happens down the road.
BTW, this GOR thing lasting until,2036 to me is a non-issue because at my age the chances of seeing 2936 are extremely slim. I’m more interested in what is happening in the fall of 2023 and pray that I’m around to see it, good or bad.

Yep
Started going to games in the Red Parker ears, Graduated in 86, daughter in 22 and now working on her masters. But we need to leave to maximize our brand. We’ve always been the orange headed step child and it’s now become evident to the league that we, not Tobacco Road, bring in the real revenue.
If Clemson leaves the ACC will you still be a fan?

I will never stop being a fan, but #### it will suck being reduced to pulling for a team in something like the SoCon or Sun Belt conference, because that’s where the ACC is headed.

If you’re a true fan, conference affiliation will not change anything. Except for 💰, I am happy where we are. I remember Dabo saying five or six years ago, we can reach all our goals from ACC. The negotiated TV contract is what needs to change. Playing Rutgers, Minnesota, Indiana would not be superior to playing Wake Forest, Boston College, or Pittsburgh. Some big games in SEC, Big 10 … some very average.

There’s going to be no restructured tv contract that adds revenue to ACC teams. The financial gap will continue to widen and if it continues in this manner, the ACC will be viewed no differently than a G5 conference.
I will always be a Clemson fan, regardless of conference affiliation. But I would rather Clemson play big boy football.

I suppose you meant will you be a CU football fan. Maybe the question should be are you loyal to the university. The football program is a small part of the Clemson experience. But to answer your question, Hell yeah, including the alumni program too. It's about more than football buddy.

Will still be a CU fan when the ACC has 6 teams in the 12 team playoff and all football games are streaming with ESPN contracts renegotiated and occasional trips to Eugene and Seattle required.

I have been a Clemson fan since birth and went to my first games in the mid 70's when I was old enough to sit through one. If a bunch of bandwagon fans will jump off the bandwagon because we stay in the ACC that might work out well. They can all go cheer for Georgia or USC of whoever feeds their ego. Ticket prices will come down and the town will be less crowded on game day, there are lots of advantages to this happening.

If Clemson decided to fire Dabo Swinney and hire Will Muschamp because they weren't serious about competing at the highest level would you stop being a Clemson fan?
