JL's been carried by the likes of Gossett and Crownover

now for 2 years.
Other kids have had good years as well generally, Okey overall this year, Boulware at the plate last year and Rohlman this year.
But it's been the Friday pitching that has kept our record from being sub-.500 for 2 years.
We haven't improved in
fielding, situational hitting, base-running, playing our best in big games, or general relief pitching (though injuries have hurt here).
There are a good many complaints that could be made about the coaching of the team, and it isn't nearly all on the pitching coach as some would like to suggest.

Don't you need to at least give JL credit for recruiting

just like you gave Tommy Bowden the credit for recruiting the talent he had.
you should know boob, if you don't use the talent you have,
well then it just hangs there between your legs doing nothing.

talent. Some say we have a very talented team and JL isn't utilizing that talent to its fullest; others say we have below-average talent (for Clemson) and that part of the reason is our built-in disadvantage in offering scholarships.

Either JL can't coach up the talent he can recruit, or
JL can't recruit talent that will respond to his coaching. {marinate on that for a minute}
Either way, it's JL's responsibility.
When the base-running or fielding or relief pitching or capability to win big games improves,
then I'll be happy to say that JL has done his job "well".

soooo, you agree that players make coaches better ?

Jack Legget may be old school, and he may be hard headed and not so apt to change with the times... But you have to get the players, and they must perform. The last few years have been tough, and with our heritage of great baseball and regular Omaha visits we became accustomed to it. It was great but things change and right now we are not as good as we have been in the past. If he feels that the Tiger baseball team are not playing as hard as they can because of him, I have no doubts he would leave and let someone else take over. Sometimes changes is needed just simply for the sake of change, which could be what the Tigers need but I think those in the know at Clemson will make the right decision.
I just want our Tigers to play their best, and sometimes that just is not good enough if you do not have enough talent. Heart can take you a long way, but usually those with more skill will prevail so lets hope we can up the meter on talent and turn the corner to the Tigers of the past and get back to Omaha! I am not so sure that with some good fortune, and schedule timing, that we could possibly make a run this year??

have enough talent?
please.
could you be more derogatory?
at least let the man stand up and take responsibility for where he has failed.
So I'll give Tommy Bowden some more credit (and the man deserves quite a bit) - unlike JL, he knew when and how to leave.
