it will be a big loss. IMO he was the best back on the roster (and I love Ship). I can’t blame him though after the play calling in the OB, just baffling that we did not run the ball more.

Something special in combination with Shipley as an offensive staple? 100%
Criminally underutilized this year? Without a doubt.

That guy is a future NFL back. Mark my words.
I’ll be here in 2-3 years to eat my crow if isn’t.
Question is: will he be building that draft stock as part of a 3 headed monster backfield at Clemson?
Or will streeter keep putting square pegs in round holes until we are starting a bunch of walkons after the rest of the offense transfers

Exactly. Mafah has NFL RB written all over him. He's better than Shipley. Should've been RB1.
Ship can't break a big run, trips all the time, gets blown up in coverage. Big heart guy, but i don't see the 5star talent there.
I bet we'll wish it was Shipley instead of Mafah who left when its all said and done.

I don't mean to pile on Shipley. I like the guy!
But all I hear about is how he is the fastest guy on the team. But in games I see him seeming to get a breakaway run and getting caught by a defender.
I think he's a very good running back, but I think he is being over-sold.

I like both but you can take Ship and I will go with Mafah. Agree to disagree. Mafah is a stud imo. Would have been fun to see him get 20 carries a game.

Ship is "better"? Hmmmmmm.....two different backs with different strengths situationally.
With that said, neither back is "elite", IMO---neither possesses the kind of second-level, break away speed that Etienne had.

It sucks but cant blame the guy. He is a starter almost anywhere. He has 2 years and deserves to shine.
While I agree he is a power back, Shipley has the reigns.

Our OL could not consistently move UT's DL. Pretty much why we bogged inside the 30 each time. zero faith in the OL to move anyone.

Disagree. Mafah has consistently had more success running between the tackles than shipley. Shipley is the better outside sweep/scat back. For whatever reason, the staff seems to have their roles swapped.

Ship is slightly better. I will be so angry. How could the coaches not see this coming if true. I thought about it some time ago. Mafah needed close to the same amount of touches as Ship.
So what team do you think tampered will be the question.
This transfer thing is so awful. You cannot recruit accordingly. We may have been able to land a top RB this cycle. By the way didn’t Tony recruit Ship and Mafah. So who has CJ landed?

Mafah was very underrated and under used this season. Shipley is great but Mafah could’ve been played more.

He was very underutilized.
Both of our backs are amazing and both would compliment each other if Streeter and Dabo called the games better. With Ship getting the carries i can’t say I blame him for wanting to move somewhere else.

Maybe the coaches need to promise him touches next year. He is worth it. He and Ship are almost interchangeable when it comes to running between the tackles.
